Job Overview:
The IT Intern position is designed to provide practical experience for university students in fields such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, and Management Information Systems. The intern will work closely with the IT Officer and other colleagues for a duration of six months, gaining hands-on experience in a professional office environment. The role involves utilizing current software and tools to complete assignments, while also providing first-level IT support. Interns will have the opportunity to learn about computer hardware, software installation, and network troubleshooting, as well as improve their customer service and technical documentation skills. The internship is structured to complement academic studies and provide valuable insights into the IT field.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will assist employees with basic IT support, including troubleshooting computer, software, printer, and connectivity issues. Responsibilities include setting up and maintaining computers and peripheral devices, assisting with onboarding and offboarding activities, and contributing to the maintenance of the IT asset register. The intern will also be involved in preparing user guides and troubleshooting notes, supporting project activities, and collaborating with teams to develop educational materials. Additional tasks may include assisting with social media campaigns, providing logistical support for project activities, and ensuring the organization of IT storage areas. The intern will be expected to engage in various IT operational and project activities under the supervision of the IT Officer.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be currently enrolled as third- or fourth-year university students in relevant fields such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or related disciplines, or within one year of graduation. A commitment to a six-month internship is required, along with basic knowledge of Windows, computer hardware, software installation, and Microsoft Office or Microsoft 36
  • Candidates should demonstrate an interest in IT support and possess good analytical, troubleshooting, customer service, communication, and time-management skills. Attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality are also essential.

Educational Background:
The position requires candidates to be enrolled in or recently graduated from a university program in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field. This educational background is crucial for understanding the technical aspects of the role and for effectively engaging with IT operations and support tasks.

Experience:
While prior experience in IT support is not mandatory, any exposure to relevant technology areas, such as digital communications, data systems, or information management, will be considered an advantage. The internship is primarily aimed at students or recent graduates, thus emphasizing the importance of academic knowledge and a willingness to learn over extensive professional experience.

Languages:
Fluency in Khmer and English is mandatory for this position, as effective communication is essential for providing IT support and collaborating with team members. Additional language skills may be beneficial but are not required.
