Job Overview: The Senior Private Sector Partnerships Individual Giving Associate plays a crucial role within UNHCR's Private Sector Partnerships Service (PSP), which is responsible for mobilizing resources from the private sector to support refugees. This position focuses on individual giving, targeting the general public to secure donations through various channels such as direct mail, telemarketing, digital fundraising, and face-to-face fundraising. The primary goal is to maximize the donor base and enhance donor loyalty, ensuring that individuals contribute between $1 to $10,000 annually. The associate will lead and motivate a team, develop annual plans for donor acquisition and retention, and implement effective communication strategies to provide exceptional donor care. This role requires a proactive approach to fundraising, with an emphasis on innovative strategies to engage and retain donors, ultimately contributing to the financial sustainability of UNHCR's mission.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Senior PSP Individual Giving Associate include:
Developing annual plans for donor acquisition, retention, and development, including forecasts of costs, income projections, and donor figures.
Managing donor servicing and communications to ensure best-in-class donor care, including welcome letters, newsletters, and donor communications.
Collaborating with marketing agencies to create effective contact strategies and donor journeys.
Supervising fundraising campaigns, including upgrades, conversions, and loyalty initiatives.
Drafting submissions for funding to support individual giving programs.
Leading face-to-face fundraising strategies and managing relationships with partners and suppliers.
Developing and implementing digital fundraising strategies and overseeing online campaigns.
Supervising cold mailing activities and ensuring quality control in production processes. 1
Enhancing donor retention through targeted communication and engagement strategies. 1
Monitoring and reporting on fundraising performance and making recommendations for improvement. 1
Ensuring compliance with local legislation and best practices in donor care and fundraising.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a minimum of four years of relevant experience with a High School Diploma, or two years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree or higher. Essential qualifications include experience in private sector fundraising, client/donor communication, and marketing. Proven experience in donor retention and development programs, as well as coordination and supervision of fundraising campaigns, is required. Familiarity with fundraising databases and software is also essential. Desirable qualifications include experience in the non-profit sector, project management, and data analysis.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a High School Diploma or equivalent for candidates with four years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field for those with two years of relevant experience. Certifications in these fields are considered essential for the role.
