Job Overview:
The UN Women Program Consultant will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation and management of the Women's Peace and Humanitarian Fund's Regular Funding Cycle (RFC) portfolio, particularly focusing on women, peace, and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security, as well as humanitarian action in the Arab States and Sahel regions. The consultant will work closely with various teams within the WPHF and Participating UN Organizations (PUNO) to ensure effective program implementation. This position requires a strong commitment to advancing women's rights and involves providing substantive inputs for advocacy, knowledge building, reporting, and partnerships. The consultant will also be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the progress of grants and financial performance, ensuring timely delivery of the portfolio, and contributing to the development of relevant documentation and proposals.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant's responsibilities include contributing to the development of funding allocations and managing the RFC portfolio, supporting the coordination of Calls for Proposals, reviewing and evaluating proposals, and providing technical assistance to PUNOs. The consultant will maintain relationships with PUNOs and Resident/Humanitarian Coordinator Offices, identify opportunities for capacity building, and monitor the implementation of grants. Additionally, the consultant will draft reports, support financial and narrative monitoring, and develop documentation for advocacy and resource mobilization. The role also involves participating in meetings and public information events, developing analytical briefs, and ensuring effective communication with stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree or equivalent in social sciences, human rights, gender/women's studies, international development, or a related field. A first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. The position requires at least 2 years of progressively responsible work experience in program management, implementation, grant management, monitoring and evaluation, and donor reporting. Experience in designing and managing programs related to women, peace and security, and humanitarian action is essential, with additional experience in conflict-affected contexts being desirable.

Educational Background:
A Master's degree in social sciences, human rights, gender/women's studies, international development, or a related field is required. Alternatively, a first-level university degree with two additional years of relevant experience may be accepted. This educational background ensures that the consultant has a solid understanding of the complexities surrounding gender issues and humanitarian action.

Experience:
The consultant should have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in program management, implementation, grant management, and monitoring and evaluation. Experience in the specific areas of women, peace and security, and humanitarian action is required, particularly in conflict-affected regions such as the Arab States and Sahel. Familiarity with UN Multi-Partner Trust Funds or pooled funding mechanisms is also desirable, as is experience working with women-led organizations.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Arabic is mandatory for this position, as effective communication in these languages is crucial for the role. A working knowledge of French is desirable, and knowledge of other UN languages would be considered an advantage, enhancing the consultant's ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
This position can be home-based or based in Geneva, providing flexibility in the work environment. The consultant will be expected to engage in various capacities, including full-time or part-time commitments, depending on the needs of the organization and the consultant's availability.
