Job Overview:
The HR Assistant position is designed for entry-level candidates who will be integral to the HR Services team at UNOPS. This role involves providing comprehensive HR support to UNOPS partners, ensuring the delivery of essential HR services across various functions. The HR Assistant will be responsible for managing recruitment processes, addressing HR-related queries, and maintaining accurate personnel records. The incumbent will also play a key role in monitoring contract statuses and supporting the HR Lead in various administrative tasks. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering high-quality HR services to internal clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The HR Assistant will perform a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: reviewing recruitment requests for international consultants to ensure compliance with policies; drafting and preparing Offers of Appointment/Assignment; monitoring the recruitment process and escalating issues as necessary; guiding clients on recruitment policies; maintaining recruitment systems; addressing HR-related queries; preparing visa and permit applications; verifying HR-related claims; supporting contract renewals and personnel action forms; maintaining attendance and leave records; ensuring personnel files are complete; compiling HR statistical data; and participating in HR training initiatives. The role requires active engagement in knowledge sharing and capacity-building efforts within the HR team.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess either a secondary school diploma with four years of relevant experience or a bachelor's degree in any discipline with no prior experience. A globally or nationally recognized professional certificate in Human Resource Management (HRM) is desired but not mandatory. The role requires familiarity with HR policies, HR information systems, and office administration, as well as proficiency in collaboration and productivity tools such as MS Office and G-Suite.

Educational Background:
The educational requirements for this position include a secondary school diploma or equivalent with four years of relevant experience, or a bachelor's degree in any discipline with no prior experience. A professional certification in Human Resource Management is preferred but not essential. This educational background ensures that candidates have a foundational understanding of HR principles and practices, which is crucial for the effective execution of the HR Assistant's responsibilities.

Experience:
Relevant experience in any area of Human Resource Management is required. Candidates should have experience using collaboration and productivity tools, as well as web-based management systems. Desired experience includes working in multicultural environments or UN system organizations, particularly in developing countries, and experience in development or humanitarian contexts is also advantageous. This experience will help candidates navigate the complexities of HR functions within a diverse and dynamic organizational setting.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Urdu is required for this position. Proficiency in these languages is essential for effective communication with personnel and stakeholders, ensuring that HR services are delivered efficiently and that all queries are addressed promptly. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not mandatory for this role.

This position is classified as entry-level and falls under the ICA - LICA - Support - Regular contract type. The contract duration is open-ended, subject to performance and availability of funds.
