Job Overview:

The internship is unpaid and requires a full-time commitment of 35 hours per week. Interns will work under the supervision of a staff member and will be involved in various research activities that align with the themes of sustainable transport and urban mobility. The internship is expected to start on November 9, 2026, and will last for a maximum of six months. Interns will have the opportunity to engage in research on critical transport issues, support the preparation of case studies, and contribute to the development of policy briefs and technical reports. Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will have a range of responsibilities that may vary based on their background and the specific needs of the Transport Division. Key duties include conducting research on various themes such as the environmental and social dimensions of transport, climate change impacts, and sustainable urban mobility. Interns will support the preparation of case studies and background materials for meetings and workshops, assist in editing and finalizing research outputs, and undertake literature reviews to identify research gaps. They will also be responsible for collecting and analyzing data from primary and secondary sources, preparing reports that include findings and conclusions, and creating presentations to communicate their work. Additionally, interns may coordinate with Transport Division staff to identify key issues and prepare infographics and communication materials for advocacy purposes. Interns are also expected to assist with day-to-day operations and familiarize themselves with administrative tasks typical of UN organizations.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this internship, applicants must meet specific educational requirements. They should either be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent) or be in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor's level). Candidates should possess experience in quantitative data analysis and an understanding of transport modeling techniques. A strong passion for data analysis and its application in policymaking is essential, along with a keen interest in research activities.

Educational Background:
