Job Overview:
The Gender in Humanitarian Action Programme and Coordination Analyst plays a crucial role in coordinating gender-focused humanitarian action programming in Cox's Bazar, particularly in response to the Rohingya refugee crisis. This position involves overseeing the Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF) projects and gender-responsive climate action and disaster risk reduction initiatives. The Analyst will work closely with national partners, stakeholders, and UN Women teams to ensure effective implementation of projects, monitor progress, and provide technical support. The role requires collaboration with various actors, including government officials and civil society organizations, to align gender equality priorities with humanitarian responses. The Analyst will also engage in inter-agency coordination and contribute to the GiHA Chapter's activities, ensuring that gender considerations are integrated into all aspects of humanitarian action in Cox's Bazar.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical and coordination support to humanitarian action planning and strategies, including inputs to annual plans and resource mobilization.
  • Support the implementation and management of humanitarian action projects, ensuring alignment with strategic documents and effective budget management.
  • Provide technical support and capacity development for partners, facilitating training and initiatives on gender-responsive humanitarian action.
  • Monitor and report on project activities, results, and finances, ensuring compliance with results-based management tools.
  • Coordinate the GiHA Chapter's activities, facilitating meetings and contributing to national GiHA work planning processes.
  • Advocate for knowledge management and communication on GiHA, documenting best practices and supporting cross-learning initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the office and organization.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree or equivalent in gender/women's studies, public administration, law, human rights, gender equality, social sciences, or a related field. A first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. A project/programme management certification, such as PMP®, PRINCE2®, or MSP®, is considered an asset. Candidates should demonstrate strong knowledge of gender issues in humanitarian contexts and possess the ability to facilitate multi-stakeholder discussions and training.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master's degree in relevant fields such as gender/women's studies, public administration, law, human rights, gender equality, or social sciences. Alternatively, a first-level university degree with additional qualifying experience may suffice. A project management certification is advantageous.

Experience:
The position requires at least two years of progressively responsible work experience at the national or sub-national level in development and/or humanitarian program implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and donor reporting. Experience in gender equality programming in humanitarian settings is essential, along with a background in managing projects implemented by local women-led organizations. Familiarity with inter-agency coordination mechanisms in humanitarian crises is also required, and experience in the Rohingya refugee response is desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Bengali is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of Chittagonian or Rohingya is considered an asset, enhancing communication with local communities and stakeholders.
