Job Overview:

• Interns will work under the supervision of experienced staff members, gaining insights into research methodologies, data analysis, and policy advocacy related to transport issues in the Asia-Pacific region. Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will have a range of responsibilities that may vary based on their background and the specific needs of the division. Key duties include conducting research on various themes related to transport, such as the environmental and social dimensions of public transport, climate change impacts, and sustainable urban mobility. Interns will assist in the editorial process of the Transport and Communications Bulletin, including liaising with authors and preparing manuscripts. They will also support the preparation of case studies and background materials for meetings and workshops, as well as editing and finalizing research outputs like policy briefs and technical reports. Additional responsibilities include conducting literature reviews, identifying research gaps, collecting and analyzing data, preparing reports with findings, and creating presentations and infographics to communicate results. Interns may also assist with day-to-day operations and administrative tasks within the division.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this internship, applicants must meet specific educational requirements. They should be enrolled in or have completed a graduate program (second university degree or equivalent) or be in the final year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor's level). Additionally, candidates should possess experience in quantitative data analysis and familiarity with transport modeling techniques. Proficiency in programming languages such as R, Python, or Matlab is highly valued. A strong passion for data analysis and its application in policymaking is essential, along with a keen interest in research activities.
