Job Overview:
The ISOLDE System Engineer position is integral to the upgrade of the ISOLDE Offline Facilities, which are crucial for the development and testing of new beam production and manipulation systems prior to their deployment on the accelerator. The role involves close collaboration with engineers and physicists to ensure the successful coordination of technical activities, installation, and commissioning of systems that will support future radioactive ion beam experiments. The engineer will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the consolidation project, ensuring that all technical interfaces and project schedules are adhered to, while also maintaining compliance with CERN's safety regulations. Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the ISOLDE System Engineer include leading the technical coordination and daily management of the ISOLDE Offline Facilities consolidation project. This involves coordinating activities among different internal technical services and teams, following project schedules, managing technical interfaces, overseeing procurement activities, and planning installations. The engineer will organize technical meetings, track actions, and communicate project progress to stakeholders. Additionally, they will participate in the preparation of technical specifications, installation documentation, and project reports. The role also includes supporting the integration and commissioning of upgraded beam delivery and target production infrastructure, contributing to system testing and acceptance, and working closely with physicists, engineers, and technicians to ensure successful project delivery. Participation in the commissioning of upgraded systems is also a key responsibility.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have a professional background in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. They should possess proven experience in multidisciplinary engineering projects and accelerator technologies, with specific experience in beam production or diagnostics being highly desirable. An interest in project management and technical coordination is essential, along with the ability to understand complex technical systems that involve multiple engineering disciplines. Knowledge of scientific instrumentation, vacuum systems, electrical systems, or industrial controls is advantageous. Experience gained during studies or research in experimental physics, accelerator physics, or scientific instrumentation will also be beneficial.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes either a Master's degree with 2 to 6 years of post-graduation professional experience or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience. Candidates must also be nationals of a CERN Member or Associate Member State and should not have previously held a CERN fellow or graduate contract.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have a proven track record of experience in multidisciplinary engineering projects, particularly those related to accelerator technologies. The ideal candidate will have experience in beam production or diagnostics, as well as a strong interest in project management and technical coordination.
