Job Overview:
The GCF Regional Lead for Resource Mobilization will play a critical role in enhancing the Fund's ability to mobilize financial resources for climate action in developing countries. This position involves strategic planning and implementation of resource mobilization initiatives, engaging with potential donors, and building partnerships with various stakeholders. The Regional Lead will be responsible for identifying funding opportunities, developing proposals, and ensuring alignment with the GCF's mission and objectives. The role requires a deep understanding of climate finance, donor engagement strategies, and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences. The successful candidate will also be expected to represent the GCF at international conferences and meetings, advocating for the Fund's goals and objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a regional resource mobilization strategy to secure funding for GCF projects and initiatives.
• Identify and engage with potential donors, including governments, private sector entities, and philanthropic organizations.
• Prepare and submit funding proposals and reports to donors, ensuring compliance with their requirements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including national designated authorities, accredited entities, and civil society organizations.
• Monitor and evaluate resource mobilization efforts, providing regular updates and recommendations to senior management.
• Represent the GCF at international conferences, workshops, and meetings, promoting the Fund's mission and objectives.
• Collaborate with internal teams to align resource mobilization efforts with GCF's strategic priorities.
• Conduct research and analysis on climate finance trends and donor priorities to inform resource mobilization strategies.

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience in resource mobilization, fundraising, or donor engagement, preferably in the context of climate finance.
• Strong understanding of the international climate finance landscape and the role of multilateral funds.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Educational Background:
A master's degree in finance, international relations, environmental science, or a related field is required. A PhD or equivalent advanced degree is preferred. Relevant certifications in project management or fundraising would be an advantage.

Experience:
A minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience in resource mobilization, fundraising, or donor engagement, with a focus on climate finance or sustainable development. Experience working with international organizations or multilateral funds is highly desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in additional languages, particularly Korean, is considered an asset and would enhance communication with local stakeholders.
