Job Overview:
The Chief Strategy and Impact Officer will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the organization. This position requires a visionary leader who can develop and implement strategies that align with the organization's mission of combating climate change. The officer will be responsible for assessing the impact of various programs and initiatives, ensuring that they meet the desired outcomes. This role involves collaborating with different departments to integrate strategic planning into all aspects of the organization’s operations. The officer will also engage with external partners to enhance the organization’s visibility and influence in the climate change arena.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement the organization’s strategic plan to enhance its impact on climate change initiatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs and initiatives, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with senior management to align departmental strategies with organizational goals.
  • Engage with stakeholders, including governments, NGOs, and the private sector, to foster partnerships and collaboration.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for the board and other stakeholders on strategic initiatives and their impact.
  • Lead a team of professionals in strategy development and impact assessment, providing guidance and support.
  • Stay informed about global trends in climate change and sustainability to inform strategic decisions.
  • Represent the organization at conferences and meetings, advocating for its mission and objectives.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in strategic planning and impact assessment in the context of climate change or sustainable development.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Leadership experience in managing teams and driving organizational change.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Educational Background:
A master’s degree in environmental science, public policy, business administration, or a related field is required. A PhD or equivalent advanced degree is preferred, particularly for candidates with a focus on climate change or sustainability.

Experience:
A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in strategic planning, program management, or impact assessment, preferably in the climate change or sustainability sectors. Experience in an international organization or a similar environment is highly desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in additional languages, particularly Korean, is considered an asset and may enhance communication with local stakeholders.

This position is full-time and may involve international travel. The organization offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including health insurance and retirement plans. The role is based in Incheon, South Korea, and may require occasional remote work.
