Job Overview:
The Delivery Specialist is tasked with maximizing the efficiency of generating outputs from the International Methane Emissions Observatory (IMEO) science teams. This role involves generating and maintaining an overview of tasks and responsibilities, identifying and reporting bottlenecks, and collaborating with various science stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality, high-value solutions. The Delivery Specialist will facilitate the delivery of methane data products by supporting a team of scientists and analysts, coordinating work across diverse stakeholders, and ensuring that IMEO data products transition smoothly from concept to analysis to finalized scientific outputs. The position requires establishing coordination mechanisms to enable the team to deliver high-quality outputs in a structured and reliable manner, ensuring timely sharing of methane insights with external stakeholders, including national authorities and civil society. The consultant will report to the Science Studies Programme Manager and is expected to work in a dynamic environment that requires strong organizational and communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Delivery Specialist will be responsible for producing a clear overview of all ongoing scientific development activities of the data integration and methane science studies teams. This includes reporting on progress across multiple workstreams, managing and maintaining the operational backlog of scientific development, and establishing coordination mechanisms to ensure efficient workflows and clear ownership. The specialist will identify bottlenecks, risks, and dependencies, proactively addressing them to improve processes and introduce lightweight structures where necessary. Additionally, the role involves summarizing project status information to contribute to donor reporting and work plan development, managing risks and dependencies, and ensuring that all scientific outputs meet the required quality standards.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a first-level degree (e.g., Bachelor's) in Data Science, Analytics, Business Administration, Information Systems, STEM, or a related field. They should have experience in delivery management, project management, or similar coordination roles, with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple parallel workstreams. Experience working across technical and non-technical teams is essential, particularly in scientific projects, data products, data platforms, or analytics teams. The ability to translate between different domains, such as science, data, and digital development, is crucial. A pragmatic mindset that allows for the introduction of structure without hindering team progress is also required, along with strong communication and stakeholder management skills and a high attention to detail, especially regarding data quality and handoffs.

Educational Background:
A first-level degree (Bachelor's) in a relevant field such as Data Science, Analytics, Business Administration, Information Systems, STEM, or a related discipline is required for this position. This educational background provides the foundational knowledge necessary for understanding the complexities of data management and scientific analysis, which are critical for the role of Delivery Specialist.

Experience:
Candidates should have a proven track record of experience in delivery management, project management, or similar coordination roles. Experience working with scientific projects, data products, data platforms, or analytics teams is highly desirable. The ability to manage multiple workstreams and collaborate effectively across diverse teams is essential, as is experience in agile or hybrid delivery environments.

Languages:
Fluency in oral and written English is mandatory, as English is the working language of UNEP's IMEO. Knowledge of additional languages is considered an asset and may enhance communication with a broader range of stakeholders.
