Job Overview: The Programme SupportIntern will gain practical experience by supporting the APRA Implementation Office in various programme functions. Responsibilities may include data and research, economic and policy analysis, international relations, partnerships, communications, knowledge management, and event support. The internship is designed to provide exposure to international development and renewable energy settings, allowing the intern to develop interdisciplinary research and analytical skills, strengthen professional writing and communication skills, and improve programme coordination and knowledge management abilities.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be involved in several key functions including: conducting desk research, literature reviews, data collection, and information gathering from credible sources; analyzing and synthesizing quantitative and qualitative information to identify trends and policy implications; supporting stakeholder mapping and engagement; drafting and editing communication products; assisting with programme coordination and event planning; and maintaining knowledge management resources. The role is designed to provide a comprehensive learning opportunity in an international development context.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a minimum first-level university degree (Bachelor's or equivalent) or be enrolled in a postgraduate programme, with relevant fields including Economics, Statistics, Data Science, Energy or Environmental Studies, International Relations, Political Science, Public Policy, Development Studies, or Social Sciences. Strong writing, organization, and presentation skills are essential, along with proficiency in standard office and collaboration tools. Familiarity with analytical and communications tools is an asset.
Educational Background: A minimum first-level university degree (Bachelor's or equivalent) is required, or enrollment in a postgraduate programme, or graduation from such studies within three years prior to the internship start date. Relevant fields include Economics, Statistics, Data Science, Energy or Environmental Studies, International Relations, Political Science, Public Policy, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field.
Experience: While no prior professional experience is required, relevant academic, volunteer, extracurricular, or internship exposure in research, data, economics, policy, international relations, communications, or programme support is desirable. Candidates should demonstrate strong writing and organizational skills through previous work such as reports, briefs, or presentations.
Languages: Fluency in English is required for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not mandatory.
