Job Overview: The Analyst position at EBRD is integral to the project cycle, encompassing project origination, structuring, execution, implementation, and monitoring. The Analyst is expected to take on responsibilities assigned by the operation leader or senior project team members, which include conducting thorough due diligence across various dimensions such as financial, market, integrity, and compliance with EBRD policies. This role is crucial for ensuring effective post-signing implementation and monitoring of projects. The Analyst will work closely with the project team, contributing to the structuring and monitoring of debt and equity transactions, ensuring alignment with the Bank's operational objectives. The position is based in Tbilisi and focuses on infrastructure projects across the Caucasus region, where the Analyst will engage in research, data gathering, credit analysis, and financial modeling to support project success.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Analyst's duties include:
Structuring and Execution: Collaborating with the project team on transactions, conducting comprehensive research and analysis of market information and financial performance data, evaluating potential risks, preparing financial models and projections, assisting in the design and processing of technical cooperation assistance, and ensuring timely completion of assigned tasks.
Portfolio Monitoring, Value Creation, and Reporting: Undertaking tasks related to project implementation and monitoring, ensuring compliance with project agreements, preparing monitoring reports with recommendations for corrective actions, and assisting with the effective implementation of technical cooperation assignments. The Analyst's responsibilities are designed to evolve, allowing for increased complexity and scope based on experience and expertise.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, finance, or a related field, with a Master’s degree preferred. Professional qualifications such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA are desirable. Candidates should demonstrate strong quantitative and numerical skills, the ability to interpret financial information, and proficiency in designing and using financial models. Credit analysis skills are essential, along with a solid understanding of local and international accounting principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial analysis software is required, as well as the ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines. Strong written and oral communication skills in English are mandatory, and proficiency in the local language is advantageous.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree in relevant disciplines such as business administration, economics, or finance. A Master’s degree is preferred, indicating a higher level of expertise and understanding of complex financial concepts. Additional Notes: This position is a full-time role with a short-term contract lasting 12 months. The Analyst will be based in Tbilisi, Georgia, and will focus on infrastructure projects across the Caucasus.
