Job Overview:
The Senior MHPSS Associate will play a crucial role in supporting the Mental Health and psychosocial-support" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Unit within IOM. This position involves working under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and the Head of Programmes (Humanitarian), with direct supervision from the Programme Officer (MHPSS). The incumbent will be responsible for enhancing the capacity of the MHPSS Unit through various initiatives, including reporting processes, partner coordination, and the implementation of MHPSS activities. The role requires active engagement in liaising with partners and relevant authorities, supporting program implementation, and contributing to research and evidence-generation activities. The Senior MHPSS Associate will also assist in the development and implementation of programs, particularly focusing on disability inclusion, ensuring that MHPSS activities align with international standards and IOM frameworks.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Senior MHPSS Associate include supporting the implementation of MHPSS program activities, which involves preparing, adapting, and disseminating program materials and guidance. The incumbent will coordinate and exchange information with government counterparts, partners, and MHPSS coordination structures to foster effective collaboration and service delivery. Additionally, the role includes assisting in planning and delivering capacity-building activities, managing logistical coordination, and documenting outcomes. The Senior MHPSS Associate will support MHPSS research, assessments, and evidence-generation activities, including data collection, analysis, and dissemination of findings. The preparation of MHPSS program documents, concept notes, proposals, and guidance materials will also be part of the responsibilities, requiring the compilation of information and drafting inputs. Furthermore, the incumbent will assist in monitoring, learning, and documentation processes by identifying lessons learned and good practices for program improvement. The role also involves preparing and consolidating reports and analytical summaries to ensure quality and consistency in documentation. Lastly, the Senior MHPSS Associate will support the implementation of disability inclusion activities, which includes organizing assessments, capacity-building activities, and awareness-raising events, along with related administrative and logistical processes.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a high school diploma with six years of relevant experience or a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Sciences, Public Health, or a related field from an accredited academic institution with four years of relevant experience. Candidates must demonstrate a strong understanding of MHPSS programs and their implementation in humanitarian or development settings. Additionally, experience in contributing to assessments, research activities, data collection, and analysis is essential. The ability to liaise and coordinate with government counterparts, NGOs, community stakeholders, and inter-agency coordination mechanisms is also required. Experience in supporting Disability Inclusion programs or initiatives is highly desirable, and previous work with international organizations, UN agencies, or NGOs is considered an advantage.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a high school diploma with six years of relevant experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Psychology, Social Sciences, or Public Health from an accredited institution. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of mental health and psychosocial support in various contexts, particularly in humanitarian settings.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have substantial experience in supporting the implementation and administration of MHPSS programs, particularly in humanitarian or development settings. This includes experience in conducting assessments, engaging in research activities, and participating in data collection and analysis. The candidate should also have a proven track record of liaising and coordinating with various stakeholders, including government entities, NGOs, and community organizations. Experience in supporting Disability Inclusion initiatives is highly desirable, and familiarity with the operations of international organizations, UN agencies, or NGOs will be beneficial.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Ukrainian is required for this position. Proficiency in these languages is essential for effective communication and collaboration with diverse stakeholders, including government counterparts and community members. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not mandatory.

The position is subject to funding confirmation, and any offer made to the candidate will depend on this condition. The selection process may also be used to fill similar positions in various duty stations, and recommended candidates will remain eligible for appointment in similar roles for a period of 24 months.
