Job Overview: The Regional Industry Director (RID) for Infrastructure and Natural Resources (INR) will play a pivotal role in leading and managing INR activities across Europe. This position is crucial for implementing the INR strategy and priorities in collaboration with regional directors, country managers, and other industry directors. The RID will be responsible for growing the INR business, ensuring financial sustainability, and achieving significant developmental impact. This leadership role requires a strategic approach to positioning the INR business in Europe, managing investment review meetings, and overseeing upstream and advisory engagements. The RID will also work closely with senior management to execute regional strategies and develop sector strategies in partnership with IBRD/IDA and MIGA. The position demands strong leadership and management skills to foster relationships with key stakeholders and ensure effective client and portfolio management.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Regional Industry Director include:
Developing and implementing the INR strategy and priorities in partnership with regional directors and management teams.
Leading the overall INR business in Europe, ensuring profitable and developmental new business and portfolio management.
Strategically positioning the INR business by developing country strategies in collaboration with regional leadership.
Chairing and managing Investment Review Meetings to make decisions on IFC investments.
Overseeing upstream and advisory engagements for INR in the region.
Collaborating with senior management to deliver and execute regional strategies.
Partnering with IBRD/IDA and MIGA to develop regional sector strategies.
Working closely with global industry and treasury teams to implement best practices and innovative solutions.
Leading business development strategies and ensuring proactive client and portfolio management. 1
Representing IFC to key clients and stakeholders, building long-term relationships with public sector institutions, MDBs, donors, and investors. 1
Acting as the primary supervisor for INR managers and staff dedicated to the region. 1

Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's degree or equivalent professional qualification in economics, finance, or business, along with at least 15 years of relevant experience. A strong commitment to the World Bank Group and IFC's mission and values is essential. Applicants should demonstrate a proven track record of business delivery, investment experience, and superior business judgment. Experience in policy dialogue and established professional credibility in the INR sub-sectors is required. Candidates must have strong knowledge of investment decision processes, including credit, legal, and environmental and social issues. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish are mandatory, with Portuguese as a desirable additional language. Candidates should also demonstrate strategic thinking, effective prioritization, and the ability to mobilize resources and support teamwork.

Experience: The position requires at least 15 years of relevant experience in investment, business development, and management within the infrastructure and natural resources sectors. Candidates should have a strong track record of leading investment decision processes and managing large teams in dynamic and multicultural environments. Experience in policy dialogue and collaboration with public and private sector stakeholders is also essential.
Languages: Fluency in English and Spanish is mandatory for this position, with Portuguese considered a valuable asset. Strong communication skills in these languages are necessary for effective stakeholder engagement and representation of the organization.
Additional Notes: This position is a full-time role with a term duration of 4 years. It involves international recruitment, and the selected candidate will be part of the Core Leadership Team of the LAC and Europe Vice Presidency, as well as the INR global management team.
