Job Overview:
The position of Data Management Analyst (DMA) / Senior Data Management Analyst (Sr. DMA) is a 12-month contractual role within the Institute Training Program (ICDIP) division of the IMF. This division is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the IMF’s Institute Training Program, which serves as the primary vehicle for training government officials in macro-financial topics. The successful candidate will report to the Deputy Division Chief overseeing online learning and will play a pivotal role in the migration of IMF online courses from the edX platform to the new Institute Training Hub (ITH). This transition involves a comprehensive review and validation of course materials to ensure they are complete, accurate, and functional in the new learning environment. A significant aspect of this role will be focused on quality assurance of course assessments across six languages, ensuring that all content is consistent and meets the required standards. The position requires close collaboration with various stakeholders, including instructional designers and project managers, to ensure a smooth transition and successful course launch.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The main duties and responsibilities of the Data Management Analyst include:
  • Course migration support and quality assurance: Assisting in the transition of online courses from edX to the Institute Training Hub, ensuring that all online courses and learning assets meet quality standards for a seamless learner experience.
  • Multilingual assessment review: Conducting thorough reviews of assessment components, including questions, answer options, instructions, feedback, and scoring logic, to ensure they are complete and consistent with approved course content.
  • Content validation and defect resolution: Identifying and documenting any content and technical issues, such as missing text, formatting inconsistencies, broken links, and scoring discrepancies, and monitoring their resolution in coordination with the transition team.
  • Cross-language consistency checks: Comparing course assessments and learning assets across different language versions to verify their structural and functional equivalence.
  • Coordination and tracking: Maintaining issue logs, monitoring resolution status, and liaising with instructional designers and project managers to clarify requirements and support version control and re-testing.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree or equivalent in programming/systems, computer science, statistics, finance, mathematics, economics, or a related field. Strong written communication skills and a keen eye for detail are essential, along with proven experience in reviewing, testing, and validating online learning content. Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and content authoring tools is highly desirable, as is experience with quality assurance processes and issue-tracking workflows. The ideal candidate should be organized, possess strong work management skills, and be comfortable managing multiple language versions of content simultaneously.

Educational Background:
A university degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as programming/systems, computer science, statistics, finance, mathematics, economics, or a related discipline is required for this position. This educational background provides the necessary foundation for understanding the complexities of data management and online learning content validation.

Experience:
Candidates should have relevant experience in reviewing and validating online learning content, with a strong emphasis on quality assurance processes. Experience in managing multilingual content and familiarity with learning management systems will be advantageous. The role requires a detail-oriented individual who can effectively manage multiple projects and ensure high-quality outcomes.

Languages:
Working proficiency in one or more of the course languages (English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, and Arabic) is required. Familiarity with these languages will aid in conducting comprehensive reviews of assessment components and ensuring cross-language consistency.

Additional Notes:
This is a one-year contractual appointment, with the possibility of renewal for up to four years of cumulative contractual service, depending on performance, budget availability, and business needs. Only candidates currently residing in the Washington DC metro area will be considered for this position.
