This role is pivotal in shaping the understanding of the SCF Transformation Programme among SHAPE personnel, Host Nations, and the broader NATO community.
Duties and Responsibilities: The incumbent will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including: 1) Designing and executing a proactive outreach and internal communications strategy to enhance awareness and engagement regarding the SHAPE SCF Transformation Programme. 2) Developing the SCF Communication Plan independently, coordinating with SHAPE J10 STRATCOM to align with overall communication strategies. 3) Continuously assessing the Communication Plan's performance and recommending adjustments to senior management. 4) Preparing strategic-level briefings for senior management regarding the SCF programme and transition initiatives. 5) Implementing and maintaining an Information Campaign that aligns POSH efforts with external stakeholders, particularly Host Nations. 6) Supporting ongoing dialogue with SCF Programme stakeholders to ensure coherent alignment with POSH responsibilities. 7) Conducting internal communication activities to enhance staff awareness of HQ missions and priorities. 8) Maintaining POSH's presence on the NATO Information Portal and distributing information in a structured manner. 9) Monitoring open-source media for NATO-related reporting to advise senior officials on media coverage.
Required Qualifications: The position requires several essential qualifications, including: a) Professional Experience: A minimum of 2 to 4 years in Public Affairs as a communication specialist, with experience in developing communication strategies and engaging stakeholders. b) Education/Training: A university degree in business administration, public administration, or a related field, along with relevant experience. Alternatively, higher secondary education with advanced vocational training leading to professional accreditation and 4 years of related experience. c) Language Proficiency: Proficiency in English (SLP 4343) and French (SLP 2222) is required, as the work is conducted mainly in English.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a university degree in business administration, public administration, or a related discipline. Alternatively, candidates with higher secondary education and advanced vocational training leading to a professional qualification, along with relevant experience, may also be considered. The educational background should align with the communication and public affairs focus of the role, ensuring that the candidate has the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge to perform effectively in this position.
Experience: The role requires a minimum of 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in Public Affairs, specifically as a communication specialist. Experience in a military headquarters or international organization is highly desirable, as is familiarity with NATO operations and construction agencies.
Languages: The mandatory language for this position is English, with a proficiency level of SLP 4343 in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. French is also required at a proficiency level of SLP 222

Additional Notes: The contract duration for this position is limited and directly linked to the lifespan of the New SHAPE Headquarters project. Newly recruited staff will receive a definite duration contract of 3 years, which may be renewed based on the project's timeline. However, there is no expectation of contract renewal or conversion to an indefinite duration contract upon project completion. The salary will be based on the NATO Grade of the post, with potential allowances based on eligibility.
