• The IGF operates under the auspices of the United Nations and is dedicated to fostering a multi-stakeholder policy dialogue on Internet governance. The IGF Secretariat is based at the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG). The organization aims to enhance the sustainability, robustness, security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security, stability, and development of the Internet by discussing public policy issues related to Internet governance. The IGF has evolved to include various intersessional workstreams that complement its annual meetings, allowing for continuous collaboration and the production of tangible outputs that inform global policy processes.

Job Overview:
The consultant will play a crucial role in facilitating and documenting the work of the Policy Network on Artificial Intelligence (PNAI), which is part of the IGF's broader initiative to enhance its impact on global Internet governance. This position involves hosting and reporting on meetings, synthesizing discussions, and drafting outputs that will be presented at the 21st Annual Meeting of the Internet Governance Forum. The consultant is expected to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders to assess the current state of AI policy, identify best practices, and explore future directions. The role requires a deep understanding of the complexities surrounding AI and its implications for digital policy, as well as the ability to produce high-quality, readable outputs that reflect the discussions and findings of the PNAI.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant's primary responsibilities include facilitating meetings of the PNAI, documenting discussions, and synthesizing outputs that demonstrate a high level of knowledge on the subject matter. The consultant will be expected to ensure timely submission of outputs, maintain a high standard of readability, and gather positive feedback from experts in the field. Additionally, the consultant will engage with the MAG issue coordinators and other PNAI participants to foster collaboration and ensure that the outputs produced are relevant and impactful. The consultant will also be responsible for presenting findings during dedicated sessions at the annual IGF meeting, contributing to the ongoing dialogue on AI and Internet governance.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in information communication technologies, social sciences, development studies, management, or other relevant disciplines, or equivalent fields. In lieu of a Master's degree, candidates may substitute 2 additional years of relevant work experience. A minimum of 5 years of professional experience is required, particularly in analytical work related to ICTs, Internet governance, digital public policymaking, and capacity building. Candidates should have considerable experience in drafting high-level reports and synthesizing complex information. Demonstrated expertise in AI, emerging technologies, human rights online, cybersecurity, digital inclusion, and gender policy is essential.

Educational Background:
A Master’s degree in a relevant field such as information communication technologies, social sciences, development studies, or management is required. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree may be considered if they have additional relevant work experience that compensates for the lack of a Master's degree.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in areas related to ICTs, Internet governance, and digital policymaking. Candidates should have a strong background in analytical work and experience in drafting reports and synthesizing information from various sources. Experience in participatory governance and capacity building is also valuable.

Languages:
Excellent written and oral English language skills are mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language is considered desirable, which would enhance the candidate's ability to engage with a broader range of stakeholders and contribute to the multistakeholder dialogue.
