Job Overview:
The Program Assistant will provide support in planning and executing program activities, primarily focusing on the Ebola project funded by the U.S. Department of State. This project aims to significantly enhance social behavior change activities to help reduce and ultimately stop the spread of Ebola virus diseases in the northern region of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The Program Assistant will be responsible for contributing to the development and implementation of program activities, ensuring that field teams effectively and efficiently meet program objectives. This role requires a proactive approach to support the program's operational needs and facilitate communication among stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of the Program Assistant include providing technical support for program planning and implementation, organizing multi-level meetings for project activities, and ensuring the smooth execution of activities in designated areas. Specific duties include monitoring activities to ensure they are conducted properly, staying informed about the security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security situation in areas where activities are planned, assisting in organizing meetings with traditional leadership, recording feedback from various meetings, developing weekly plans, preparing purchase requests based on identified needs, and supporting the Crisis Response Coordinator in organizing meetings and translating as necessary. The Program Assistant will also ensure accurate data collection in line with monitoring and evaluation requirements and assist in other project management tasks as identified.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of an associate degree in social sciences, community health, or a related field. Essential qualifications include experience of at least 0-2 years in social mobilization, hygiene promotion, or community development. Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office applications and internet usage are required. Candidates should demonstrate excellent analytical skills, the ability to work under stress in diverse cultural environments, and the capacity to organize meetings and collect community feedback. A good understanding of the geography of Ituri is also necessary, along with strong communication skills and respect for traditional authority and community.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes an associate degree in social sciences, community health, or a similar field. This foundational education is critical for understanding the social dynamics and health issues relevant to the program's objectives.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have at least 0-2 years of relevant experience in social mobilization, hygiene promotion, or community development. This experience is essential for effectively contributing to the program's goals and ensuring successful implementation of activities.

Languages:
The mandatory language for this position is the primary language of the mission, along with the local language. Proficiency in spoken and written French is essential, and knowledge of Swahili is also required. Additionally, knowledge of English is considered a significant advantage, enhancing communication capabilities within the diverse working environment.

Additional Notes:
The expected hiring salary range for this role is between USD 16,500 and 22,000 annually, which includes gross salary (basic and allowances) for national local hires. When determining the offer amount, FHI 360 considers various factors, including relevant years of experience, education, internal equity, market pay, and budget constraints.
