Job Overview:
The National Project Coordinator (NPC) for the TRIANGLE Partnerships programme in Lao PDR will play a crucial role in the development and implementation of the work plan for this regional labor migration initiative. The NPC will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the programme, ensuring that its objectives are met effectively at the national level. This includes coordinating with implementing partners, engaging with stakeholders, and promoting gender equality and inclusion within the programme's activities. The NPC will also be tasked with monitoring progress, preparing reports, and providing technical guidance to ensure that the programme aligns with national priorities and international labor standards. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to navigate complex socio-economic landscapes to enhance the impact of labor migration policies in Lao PDR.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the National Project Coordinator include: developing strategies and identifying innovative interventions for the TRIANGLE Partnership programme; consulting with national-level tripartite partners, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders; reviewing and analyzing relevant laws, development plans, and socio-economic data; organizing and participating in national consultative meetings and workshops; serving as a focal point for technical subjects; drafting terms of reference, policy briefs, and reports; monitoring programme activities and progress; identifying problems and proposing solutions; assisting in the programming and control of resources; maintaining communication with stakeholders; supervising the work of administrative staff; and performing other duties as assigned by supervisors. The NPC will also be responsible for ensuring visibility of the programme and maintaining relations with donors and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a first-level university degree in economics, social sciences, law, or a related field. Additionally, they should have at least three years of experience in project management, administration, and implementation of grant requirements. Experience working with ILO constituents, private sector, and NGOs in Lao PDR is highly desirable, particularly in areas related to gender equality, social protection, and labor migration statistics. Familiarity with ILO policies and procedures, as well as experience working with government officials, will be considered an advantage. Strong knowledge of development issues and labor migration in Lao PDR is essential.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a first-level university degree in a relevant field such as economics, social sciences, law, or a related discipline. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the complexities of labor migration and the socio-economic factors that influence it.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of relevant experience in project management, supervision, and administration. Candidates should have a proven track record of successfully implementing projects and meeting deadlines, as well as experience in preparing and submitting reports to donors. Experience in working with ILO constituents and familiarity with labor migration issues in Lao PDR will be beneficial.

Languages:
Excellent knowledge of the working language of the duty station (Lao) is mandatory, along with a good command of English. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly in enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders.
