Job Overview:
The Project Associate position is designed for individuals who are passionate about migration issues and are eager to contribute to the IOM's mission. The role involves supporting the implementation of various projects related to migration, including planning, monitoring, and reporting on project activities. The Project Associate will work closely with project teams to ensure that objectives are met and that the projects align with IOM's strategic goals. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community organizations. The Project Associate will also be responsible for maintaining project documentation and ensuring compliance with IOM's policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of project activities related to migration.
  • Support the preparation of project proposals, reports, and other documentation as required.
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain accurate records of project activities, expenditures, and outcomes.
  • Conduct research and analysis to support project development and implementation.
  • Participate in meetings, workshops, and training sessions as needed.
  • Provide administrative support to the project team, including scheduling meetings and managing project timelines.
  • Assist in the evaluation of project outcomes and contribute to lessons learned documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with IOM's policies and procedures in all project-related activities.

Required Qualifications:
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies is an asset.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of migration issues and IOM's work is an advantage.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in social sciences, international relations, development studies, or a related field is required. A master's degree in a relevant discipline is preferred and may be considered an asset for the position.

Experience:
A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in project management, migration, or a related field is required. Experience working with international organizations or NGOs is highly desirable. Familiarity with the local context and migration issues in Türkiye will be considered an advantage.

Languages:
Fluency in Turkish and English is mandatory. Knowledge of additional languages, such as Arabic or French, is considered an asset and will enhance the candidate's profile.

Additional Notes:
This position is full-time and may require occasional travel within Türkiye. The contract duration is initially for one year, with the possibility of extension based on project needs and funding availability.
