Job Overview:
The Security Associate position is crucial for driving impactful security operations within the UNODC framework. The role involves providing essential administrative and specialized support to ensure a safe and secure environment for UNODC personnel and operations. The Security Associate will be responsible for implementing security policies and procedures, conducting risk assessments, and coordinating with local law enforcement and security agencies. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying potential security threats and developing strategies to mitigate risks. The Security Associate will also be involved in training staff on security protocols and emergency response procedures, ensuring that all personnel are well-prepared to handle security-related incidents. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Implement and monitor security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with UNODC standards.
• Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend improvements.
• Liaise with local law enforcement and security agencies to coordinate security measures and responses.
• Provide training and guidance to UNODC staff on security protocols, emergency procedures, and risk management.
• Prepare security reports and documentation for management review.
• Assist in the development of contingency plans and emergency response strategies.
• Monitor and analyze security incidents and trends to inform decision-making.
• Support the organization of security drills and exercises to test preparedness.

Required Qualifications:

Educational Background:
A minimum of a bachelor's degree in security management, criminal justice, or a related field is required. Additional certifications in security operations or risk management are highly desirable. Experience:
A minimum of three years of relevant experience in security operations, risk assessment, or a related field is required. Experience working in an international organization or in a conflict or post-conflict environment is an asset. Candidates should demonstrate a proven track record of effectively managing security operations and responding to security incidents.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, while proficiency in French is highly desirable. Knowledge of additional languages spoken in the region will be considered an advantage, as it enhances communication with local stakeholders and enhances the effectiveness of security operations.

Additional Notes:
This position is classified at the Associate level and falls under the International Contractual Agreement (ICA) framework. The contract is for a duration of three months, with the possibility of extension based on the availability of funds and satisfactory performance. The role is full-time and requires a commitment to maintaining a secure environment for UNODC operations.
