Job Overview:

Interns will work under the supervision of the Team Lead of Performance Measurement Officer, focusing on enhancing the user interface and data visualization capabilities of ASYPM dashboards. The internship is full-time and can be conducted either in-person in Geneva or remotely, depending on the intern's circumstances. Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will have a range of responsibilities, including:
  • Assisting in the assessment of the impact of integrating Apache ECharts on the interactivity and analytical capacity of ASYPM dashboards.
  • Supporting the redesign of ASYPM’s user interface to enhance user engagement and performance while ensuring compatibility with existing ASYCUDA architecture.
  • Ensuring that all tasks are performed in compliance with UNCTAD's rules and regulations.
  • Providing copies of all materials prepared during the internship to the receiving departments.
  • Respecting the confidentiality and impartiality required by the UN and refraining from sharing any sensitive information.
  • Engaging with diverse cultural backgrounds and demonstrating a commitment to the ideals of the UN Charter.
  • Following IT security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security best practices, including maintaining updated software and enabling firewalls.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must meet specific qualifications to be eligible for the internship. They should be enrolled in or have completed a graduate program in Computer Science or be in the final year of a bachelor's degree program in the same field. Additionally, applicants should possess computer literacy in standard software applications, a strong background in data visualization, and software engineering. A keen interest in the work of the United Nations and the ability to interact successfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds are also essential. Knowledge of software development with Jakarta EE, Java, VueJS, or Quarkus is desirable, along with familiarity with data analytics and dashboard design.

Educational Background:
The educational requirements for this internship include being a student in the final year of a bachelor's degree program, or having completed a bachelor's, master's, or Ph.D. program in a relevant field such as Computer Science. Applicants must provide proof of their educational status at the time of application, including an official certificate if required later in the process.

Experience:
