Job Overview:
The Portfolio and Platform Lead will be instrumental in managing the lifecycle of AI projects within the Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (MNCNH) sector. This role involves bridging product development and operational implementation, ensuring that AI initiatives are technically sound and scalable across various health care settings. The lead will oversee the MNCNH AI portfolio, coordinating with internal teams, country teams, grantees, and external partners to optimize resources and maximize impact on maternal and child health outcomes. The position requires a strong focus on managing AI projects from proof-of-concept to national scale, ensuring alignment with the foundation's broader AI strategy and goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties of the Portfolio and Platform Lead include managing AI projects and supporting grants/contracts from concept through to scale, building frameworks to track timelines, budgets, milestones, and grant performance. The lead will assess project readiness at each stage, identify and address product bottlenecks, and ensure alignment with the MNCNH Clinical Decision Support and Patient Self-Care AI Strategy. Responsibilities also include working with Program Officers to design new grants and contracts, serving as a technical thought partner to grantees, embedding human-centered design in product development, and aligning product strategies with organizational goals. The lead will build relationships with health ministries and partners, develop AI product introduction strategies, and identify high-potential AI initiatives to guide them through the maturity pipeline. Additionally, the lead will define integration standards for health information systems and maintain an integration landscape map.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced degree in biotech, pharmaceutical, or life sciences, or equivalent experience. A minimum of 8 years of experience managing AI, digital, or technology product portfolios is required, ideally in a commercial setting. Candidates should have a strong understanding of AI product development, evaluation, and adoption, as well as experience in structuring and managing AI projects. Strong analytical skills to assess project performance and resource allocation are essential, along with the ability to engage with various stakeholders, including governments and tech firms.

Educational Background:
An advanced degree in biotech, pharmaceutical, or life sciences is required for this position. Equivalent experience may also be considered, but a strong educational background in relevant fields is essential to understand the complexities of AI in health care settings.

Experience:
The position requires at least 8 years of experience in managing AI, digital, or technology product portfolios. Candidates should have demonstrated experience in managing grants, contracts, or comparable investment vehicles, and a strong understanding of AI product development and adoption processes. Experience in structuring and managing AI projects, tracking deliverables, and managing cross-functional teams is also necessary.

Languages:
