Job Overview: The UNHCR Database Intern will play a crucial role in supporting the Data Management team within the Private Sector Partnerships (PSP) unit. The position involves working closely with the Data Management Associate and contributing to various data operations, including data cleaning, donor segmentation, and operational support for CRM systems like Salesforce. The intern will also have the opportunity to learn about payment gateway operations and how to monitor transactions effectively. By the end of the internship, the intern is expected to have a solid understanding of data flows and systems, as well as improved skills in data management and analysis.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern's duties and responsibilities will include:
Data Management and Salesforce: Performing updates, corrections, data cleaning, standardization, and enrichment of data.
Supporting the creation and maintenance of donor records to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
Assisting in monitoring database integrity to identify and rectify any discrepancies.
Donor Segmentation: Supporting the creation of segmentation lists and data extraction under the guidance of the PSP team, as well as documenting segmentation processes for future reference.
Payment Gateway Operations: Monitoring transactions and supporting reconciliation and adjustments to ensure accurate financial records.
Data Cleaning: Executing deduplication, standardization, and organization tasks to enhance data quality.
Operational Support: Assisting with ad hoc requests and process improvements to streamline data management operations.
Collaborating with the PSP and other internal teams as required to support various initiatives and projects.
Required Qualifications: To qualify for this internship, candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications:
Be a recent graduate (completed studies within one year of applying) or have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies in a relevant field such as Data Engineering, Information Systems, Statistics, or related disciplines from a university accredited by UNESCO.
Demonstrate a strong interest in data management, systems, and CRM tools.
Possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, analytical skills, and a genuine interest in working with data.
Fluency in Portuguese is mandatory, along with intermediate communication skills in English.
Familiarity with databases and CRM tools, such as Excel, Salesforce, and Power BI, is desirable but not required.
Educational Background: Candidates must have completed at least two years of undergraduate study in a relevant field related to UNHCR's work. This includes disciplines such as Data Engineering, Information Systems, Statistics, or other related fields. Additionally, applicants must be current undergraduate, graduate, or Ph.D. students, or recent graduates who completed their studies within the last two years at an IAU/UNESCO-accredited university.
Experience: The position is designed for individuals who are either recent graduates or current students with at least two years of relevant undergraduate study. Therefore, candidates are not required to have extensive professional experience, but a strong interest in data management and familiarity with CRM tools will be beneficial.
