Job Overview:
The ILO internship-programme" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Internship Programme offers a unique opportunity for talented individuals to gain practical experience and enhance their understanding of international labor issues. Interns will be directly involved in the work of the ILO, particularly within the I-KORP initiative, which focuses on promoting decent work and social justice in the Asia-Pacific region. The internship is designed to provide insights into the functioning of international organizations and the application of ILO principles, programs, and strategies. Interns will engage in various activities that support ILO's mission, including technical cooperation, policy support, and capacity building. This position is not intended to lead to a permanent career within the ILO, and candidates should not expect further employment after the internship concludes.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be expected to assist in various tasks related to the I-KORP program, including but not limited to: supporting the development and implementation of technical cooperation projects; conducting research on labor issues relevant to the Asia-Pacific region; assisting in the organization of capacity-building workshops and training programs; participating in policy dialogue with stakeholders; and contributing to the preparation of reports and documentation. Interns will also have the opportunity to attend regular staff meetings, engage with ILO field staff, and participate in training courses offered to I-KORP staff members. The role will require adaptability to a multicultural environment and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must meet the following qualifications: a strong interest in international labor issues and the mission of the ILO; the ability to work effectively in a multicultural and multilingual environment; good communication skills; and a collaborative spirit. Proficiency in basic computer software such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is essential, along with the ability to utilize AI tools for analytical purposes. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate adaptability and a willingness to learn.

Educational Background:
Applicants should be currently enrolled in a graduate degree program in political science, law, social sciences, or a related field. Candidates must either be in their final year of study or have completed their degree no more than one year prior to the internship start date. This educational background is crucial as it provides the necessary theoretical framework and understanding of the issues that the ILO addresses.

Experience:
While prior experience is not mandatory, any exposure to relevant fields such as labor relations, public policy, skills development, or social protection will be considered an advantage. This experience can come from academic projects, volunteer work, or previous internships that align with the ILO's mission and objectives.
