Job Overview:
The Finance Processing Officer position is crucial for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions and administrative data within the global Welthungerhilfe administrative hub, also known as the Shared Service Center. This role is designed to contribute to efficient service delivery and operational quality, ensuring that the hub functions effectively. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing accounting transactions based on supporting documentation received through established workflows, ensuring that all financial documents are booked accurately and on time. The position requires collaboration with finance colleagues across various Country Offices to resolve any processing issues and to follow up on outstanding items, thereby maintaining the integrity of financial operations. The role also involves account reconciliation activities and maintaining proper electronic filing and documentation of accounting records, which are essential for compliance with internal controls, procedures, and audit requirements. The Finance Processing Officer will need to adapt to a changing operational environment, integrating new processes and responsibilities as additional operational activities are progressively integrated into the hub. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Process accounting transactions based on supporting documentation received through established workflow.
  • Ensure timely and accurate booking of financial documents.
  • Ensure required supporting documentation is available for processing activities.
  • Liaise with finance colleagues across Country Offices to resolve processing issues and ensure timely follow-up on outstanding items.
  • Perform account reconciliation activities.
  • Maintain proper electronic filing and documentation of accounting records.
  • Work effectively within a changing operational environment, integrating new processes and responsibilities as additional operational activities are progressively integrated into the Hub.
  • Support compliance with internal controls, procedures, and audit requirements.
  • Contribute to the smooth functioning of the Hub by working collaboratively and identifying opportunities for improvement.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Finance Processing Officer position should possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. Additionally, being a CPA (K) Finalist is essential, along with at least three years of progressive professional experience in a relevant field. Experience working in an international NGO and a solid understanding of international donor regulations are preferred qualifications. Candidates with audit experience will have an added advantage. Strong accounting skills are necessary, including the management of general ledgers, journal entries, payables, and balance sheets. Advanced computer skills, particularly in MS Office applications such as Excel, are also required to perform the duties effectively.

Educational Background:
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. A CPA (K) Finalist status is also required, indicating a strong foundation in accounting principles and practices. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of financial transactions and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of progressive professional experience in finance or accounting roles. Experience in an international NGO setting is preferred, as it provides valuable insights into the financial management of donor-funded projects and compliance with international regulations.
