Job Overview:
The Technology & AI Adoption Specialist – Operations is a pivotal role within the IRC, tasked with driving the integration and uptake of artificial intelligence (AI) across the organization's global operations. This position involves direct collaboration with various teams to identify, test, and scale high-value AI use cases that can lead to substantial improvements in operational efficiency and effectiveness. The Specialist will manage a pipeline of AI opportunities, working closely with internal functions such as Finance, Supply Chain, and Human Resources to ensure that AI tools are effectively utilized and translate into tangible benefits for the organization. This role requires a deep understanding of operational needs and the ability to bridge the gap between technical developers and operational teams, ensuring that AI initiatives are well-defined and aligned with organizational goals. The Specialist will also play a crucial role in fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the IRC, helping teams to embrace new technologies and methodologies that enhance their work.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Technology & AI Adoption Specialist include establishing and managing a structured pipeline of AI opportunities across various departments, ensuring clear problem definitions, requirements, and expected return on investment (ROI). The Specialist will maintain a shared intake and prioritization process with technical teams, tracking use cases from initial intake through pilot testing, iteration, and scaling. Coordination with cross-functional teams is essential to align on development, deployment, and support, while monitoring outcomes and performance against defined success criteria such as efficiency gains and adoption rates. The Specialist will identify and prioritize high-impact AI use cases, working closely with product owners to understand workflows and diagnose pain points. They will map current and future processes, translating needs into developer-ready artifacts that facilitate the technical teams' work. Additionally, the Specialist will co-design, test, and iterate solutions with end users, support AI deployment into live workflows, and document successful use cases for replication. They will lead AI adoption efforts within targeted teams, addressing barriers to adoption and developing practical strategies to drive consistent use of AI solutions. The Specialist will also create targeted learning resources and communications that reinforce the value of AI initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Technology & AI Adoption Specialist position must possess a minimum of 6 years of experience in change management, digital transformation, business analysis, learning and development, or related fields. A strong familiarity with AI tools and applications is essential, along with the ability to translate their capabilities into practical use cases and workflow improvements. Experience in driving the adoption of AI and other technology solutions in complex organizations is crucial, as is a demonstrated ability to diagnose operational challenges and redesign workflows. Candidates should have experience in designing and delivering training or capacity-building initiatives, a strong data orientation, and excellent interpersonal skills to build networks that support adoption. The ability to drive alignment and behavior change without direct authority is also important, as is experience in international development, humanitarian, or nonprofit contexts.

Educational Background:

The compensation for this position varies by location, with a US pay range of $88,277-$102,451 per year and a UK pay range of £49,598-£60,040 per year.
