Job Overview:
The Cash and Asset Transfer (CAT) Officer will play a crucial role in the RAPID project team, focusing on the effective implementation and management of Cash and Asset Transfer and ICT4D-related activities. This position requires a thorough and service-oriented approach to ensure that the project consistently applies best practices and works towards improving the impact of its benefits to the communities served. The officer will be responsible for deploying, configuring, and maintaining CAT/Red Rose devices, applications, networks, and databases. Additionally, the officer will provide field-level and remote technical support to staff, vendors, partners, and end-users, manage user access, and liaise with CAT platform service providers. The role also involves supporting the implementation of CAT strategies, conducting user training, managing inventory, and preparing reports and budgets related to CAT operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Cash and Asset Transfer (CAT) Officer will have a wide range of responsibilities including: deploying, configuring, and maintaining Red Rose devices; monitoring databases, networks, servers, and telecommunications; providing field-level technical support to vendors and staff; troubleshooting issues to ensure optimal performance; configuring applications as per the CAT Strategy; managing user access to ensure it is limited to current team members; communicating with CAT platform service providers; delivering timely and quality service and technical support; maintaining inventory of ICT4D equipment; providing input to budget for ICT4D-related expenses; coordinating relationships with suppliers; supporting capacity building initiatives; preparing statistical reports on ICT4D-related data; implementing measures to ensure required standards are met; exporting campaign data; planning and managing CAT Strategy Component Trainings; creating training materials; maintaining documentation of processes and troubleshooting guides; and assessing user capacity for training needs.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field such as Computer Science, Computer Networking, Programming, or Information Systems. Significant work experience in a directly related field combined with appropriate training or certificates may be considered in lieu of a degree. A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience is required, with at least 3 years in a position with similar responsibilities. Desired certifications include Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate, Cisco Certified Network Associate, Microsoft SharePoint Foundations, and ITIL Foundation. Candidates should also demonstrate a proactive, resourceful, and solutions-oriented mindset, with strong client-service focus and the ability to work effectively in diverse teams.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field such as Computer Science, Computer Networking, Programming, or Information Systems. Candidates with significant work experience in a directly related field, along with appropriate training or certificates, may be considered in lieu of a degree. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the technical aspects of the role and for effectively managing the ICT4D-related activities.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, with at least 3 years in a role that has similar responsibilities. This experience should include direct involvement in managing ICT4D-related activities, technical support, and capacity building initiatives. Candidates should demonstrate a proven track record of successfully implementing and managing technology solutions in a humanitarian or development context.

Languages:
The mandatory language for this position is English. Proficiency in English is essential for effective communication with team members, stakeholders, and beneficiaries. Additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly those relevant to the local context in which CRS operates, but English remains the primary language of operation.

Additional Notes:
This position is based in Plateau State, Nigeria, and may require travel of up to 20%. The role does not have supervisory responsibilities.
