Job Overview:
The Data Information Management Officer will work under the supervision of the Nutrition Specialist, focusing on the strategic use of nutrition data. The role emphasizes the importance of transforming raw data into actionable insights to support programming, optimize resources, and demonstrate impact. The officer will be responsible for ensuring the optimal use of existing systems such as KoboToolBox, SINUT, and DHIS2, and will develop analytical dashboards to facilitate decision-making. This position requires a proactive approach to data management, emphasizing validation, quality control, and capacity building within the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Data Information Management Officer include:
  • Data collection and organization: Ensuring systematic collection and organization of nutrition data.
  • Validation and quality control: Implementing processes to validate data accuracy and maintain high-quality standards.
  • Analysis and synthesis: Analyzing data to extract meaningful insights and synthesize findings for reporting.
  • Strategic use of nutrition data: Utilizing data to inform strategic decisions and enhance program effectiveness.
  • Decision-making support: Providing data-driven support to decision-makers within the organization.
  • Capacity building and support: Training staff on data management practices and tools.
  • Information management products: Developing and maintaining information management products that meet organizational needs.
  • Quality assurance: Ensuring that all data management processes adhere to established quality standards.
  • Coordination: Collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure effective data management practices. 1
  • GIS (Geographic Information Systems): Utilizing GIS tools to enhance data visualization and analysis.

Required Qualifications:
The minimum qualifications required for this position include a Bachelor's degree in information management or a related field. Candidates should possess at least two years of professional experience in the development, implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of Information Management Systems. Knowledge and expertise in Management Information Systems (MIS) are essential, along with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and establish productive working relationships.

Educational Background:
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in information management or a related field. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of data management and information systems relevant to the role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of two years of professional experience in the development, implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of Information Management Systems. Experience in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and with a United Nations agency, particularly UNICEF, is considered an advantage. Relevant experience in development, fragile settings, and humanitarian contexts is also beneficial.

Languages:
Fluency in English and French is mandatory for this position. Additionally, knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language is desirable, as it can enhance communication and collaboration within the organization and with local stakeholders.
