Job Overview:
As an Inventory Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting warehouse maintenance and the management of goods receipt, storage handling, monitoring, and dispatch. Your work will directly contribute to the organization's mission of delivering high-quality programming to vulnerable populations. You will be responsible for ensuring that all goods are maintained according to the organization's standards and in compliance with both donor regulations and international supply chain accountability standards. This position requires a proactive approach to managing inventory and maintaining accurate records, which are essential for effective program delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Your primary duties will include maintaining an up-to-date entry register and inventory records, preparing necessary documentation for receiving, issuing, returning, and disposing of assets. You will also be responsible for keeping records of lost, stolen, and damaged items, reporting these on a monthly basis. Additionally, you will assist in the maintenance of warehousing and storage facilities, conducting regular inspections and cleaning. You will help prepare these facilities for goods receipt and dispatch, assist with loading and offloading activities, and ensure that all documentation related to goods is filed according to established standards. Furthermore, you will coordinate activities related to property movement and management of fixed assets, process requests from staff for available assets, and maintain records of disposal assets for review and decision-making.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, you must possess a minimum of a University Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND). Additionally, you should have at least 2 years of work experience in a similar role, demonstrating your ability to manage inventory and warehouse operations effectively. Knowledge of warehouse and inventory practices is essential, along with proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Word. You should also exhibit ethical conduct in line with professional standards and possess strong communication and relationship management skills.

Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this position includes a minimum of a University Degree or HND. This educational background is essential to ensure that you have the foundational knowledge necessary for managing inventory and understanding warehouse operations effectively.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in a similar role. This experience should demonstrate your capability in handling inventory management, warehouse operations, and compliance with organizational standards and regulations.

Languages:
Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory for this position. This proficiency is crucial for effective communication within the organization and with external stakeholders, ensuring that all documentation and reporting are completed accurately and professionally.

Additional Notes:
This position is based in Benue State, Nigeria, and may require occasional travel of up to 10%. The role does not have supervisory responsibilities, allowing you to focus on inventory management and warehouse operations.
