This initiative aims to enhance language learning through digital tools in primary schools, focusing on improving digital infrastructure and teacher capacity. The consultant will be responsible for managing, coordinating, planning, delivering, and monitoring activities related to the expansion of the program to 31 additional schools in the Una-Sana Canton. The position requires a proactive approach to address challenges in teacher competencies with educational technology and to ensure the effective integration of blended learning methodologies in classrooms. The consultant will also engage with various stakeholders, including education institutions and community organizations, to foster inclusivity and support for children from diverse backgrounds.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage and coordinate the implementation of the Akelius Digital Language Course across the designated schools, ensuring alignment with UNICEF's educational goals.
Plan and deliver training sessions for teachers on the use of digital tools and blended learning methodologies.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the program, collecting data on student engagement and learning outcomes.
Collaborate with local education authorities and community organizations to promote the initiative and secure additional resources.
Provide ongoing support and guidance to teachers, helping them to integrate technology into their teaching practices effectively.
Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, school administrators, and community leaders.
Prepare reports and presentations on program progress and outcomes for UNICEF and other stakeholders.
Address challenges related to teacher competencies in educational technology and propose solutions to enhance their skills.
Ensure that the program is scalable and sustainable, addressing key challenges such as equitable access to digital resources.
A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in education, technology, and digital learning.
Strong ICT skills, including proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and data collection tools.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong emphasis on intercultural sensitivity.
Strong facilitation skills and the ability to work independently and proactively.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and discretion with confidential information.
Educational Background: The position requires a Bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as Education, Social Sciences, Public Policy, Law, International Relations, Political Science, or languages like English or German. This educational background is essential to understand the complexities of educational systems and the integration of technology in learning environments.
Experience: Candidates must have at least 3 years of relevant professional experience in education, technology, and digital learning. This experience should demonstrate a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities in implementing digital learning initiatives in educational settings.
Languages: Fluency in English and BCS (Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian) is mandatory for this position. Additionally, prior foreign language teaching experience is desirable, as well as experience in the UN Common System, which would enhance the candidate's ability to navigate the organizational culture and processes effectively.
