Job Overview: The IT Project Manager position is critical within the IAEA's Department of Safeguards, where the incumbent will report to the Project SupportTeam Leader. The primary responsibility of the IT Project Manager is to ensure that IT projects align with the department's priorities and are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the expected benefits. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and project management skills, as the IT Project Manager will be responsible for translating business requirements into IT capabilities, managing project teams, and advising senior management on the implications of technology projects on the IAEA's core business. The IT Project Manager will also lead agile software implementation teams, ensuring that the software development lifecycle is managed effectively and that the needs of clients and stakeholders are met.
Duties and Responsibilities: The IT Project Manager will develop project plans that align with relevant policies and standards, ensuring that solution options are consistent with the SGIS technical and information architecture. The role involves managing the implementation of new information systems or enhancements to existing systems, leading agile software implementation teams, and serving as the product manager for safeguards IT products. The IT Project Manager will collaborate with departmental staff to implement policies and standards for information, project, and portfolio management, and support the management of the SG IT project and product portfolio through data analysis and visualization. Additionally, the IT Project Manager will be responsible for risk management, quality assurance, and ensuring that projects meet their objectives.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's Degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Alternatively, a Bachelor's Degree in a stipulated field with two years of additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of an advanced degree. The position requires a minimum of five years of experience as an IT project manager in an information systems context, particularly in client-facing roles. Experience in leading software delivery teams using lean/agile methodologies such as SCRUM is essential. Candidates should also have expertise in business process analysis, project management methodologies like PMP or PRINCE2, and quality management. Additional certifications in project management and agile methodologies are considered assets.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Master's Degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. A Bachelor's Degree may be acceptable if accompanied by two additional years of relevant experience. This educational foundation is critical for understanding the complexities of IT project management and the technical aspects of the role.

Additional Notes: The IAEA offers an attractive remuneration package, including a tax-free annual net base salary starting at US $71,335, subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance. Additional benefits include a variable post adjustment, dependency benefits, rental subsidy, education grant, relocation and repatriation expenses, and six weeks of annual leave.
