Job Overview:
The intern will play a crucial role in supporting the UNDP-Global Fund Partnership Health Systems Team (GFPHST) by engaging in risk management and compliance activities. This position involves tracking and analyzing audit findings, maintaining risk and compliance trackers, and contributing to portfolio-level risk analysis. The intern will also compile and structure datasets related to the Global Fund portfolio, supporting data analytics to identify trends and emerging risks. The role requires the intern to assist in preparing periodic reports and documentation, contributing to knowledge management and process support, and ensuring effective communication of analytical insights to management. The intern will gain valuable experience in international development, global health, and compliance processes while working in a multicultural environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern's responsibilities include supporting the tracking and analysis of audit findings and compliance areas, maintaining risk and compliance trackers, and contributing to portfolio-level risk analysis outputs. The intern will compile and clean datasets related to the Global Fund portfolio, analyze data to identify trends and anomalies, and develop data visualizations and dashboards. Additionally, the intern will assist in preparing periodic reporting outputs, consolidating inputs from multiple sources, and documenting risk and compliance-related tools and processes. The role also involves contributing to the development of guidance materials and capturing lessons learned from portfolio analysis, as well as supporting meetings and coordination tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex datasets. A basic understanding of gender, safeguarding, or PSEAH-related concepts is preferred. Proficiency in Excel is required, and knowledge of Power BI or similar tools is an asset. The intern should have experience in data cleaning, validation, and visualization, as well as the ability to present data clearly and accurately. Strong attention to detail, discretion in handling sensitive information, and excellent writing skills for concise outputs are essential for this role.

Educational Background:
Applicants must be enrolled in a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent) or in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor’s level). Alternatively, candidates who have graduated with a university degree must start the internship within one year of graduation. A degree in public health, international relations, development studies, or a related field is preferred.

Experience:
Candidates should have a background in international development, global health, public policy, or a related field. A basic understanding of public health, risk management, compliance, or gender and safeguarding issues is advantageous. The ability to work effectively in a multicultural and collaborative environment is essential, along with experience using web-based applications and Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Languages:
Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required for this position. Knowledge of another UN official language is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's profile for the role.

Additional Notes:
The internship is expected to last a minimum of three months and up to six months. Interns may receive a stipend according to UNDP Internship Policies if they are not financially supported by any institution or program. Interns are responsible for securing adequate medical insurance for the duration of the internship and must obtain necessary visas and arrange travel to and from the duty station. Interns are not eligible for employment with UNDP during the internship period, and there is no expectation of employment at the end of the internship. Interns will be evaluated at the end of the contract, and recognition of their work will be provided in writing. Selected candidates must provide various documents, including a resume, university confirmation letter, recommendation letter, school transcript, passport copy, and medical certificate.
