The intern will report directly to the PPH Assistant Officer based in Sao Paulo, contributing to the overall fundraising operation in Brazil.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern's duties and responsibilities will include supporting the preparation of donor proposals for fundraising efforts targeting corporations, foundations, and individuals. The intern will conduct research on donor philanthropic profiles and their potential to support UNHCR. They will also keep existing and potential PPH donors informed about UNHCR's work and priorities. Additionally, the intern will be responsible for registering all leadership donor information in the CRM database, assisting in the production of publications and PowerPoint presentations for donor meetings and events, and scheduling meetings with potential and existing PPH donors via phone and email. Other responsibilities include supporting and checking deliveries from consultants and service providers, organizing exclusive events for PPH donors, assisting with procurement processes, providing administrative support to the unit, and helping with newsletters and other communication materials directed at donors and prospects. The intern will also carry out research on specific topics related to Islamic Philanthropy activities in Brazil and assist the PSP Brazil team with campaigns and monitoring websites and social media portals for Islamic philanthropists.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate for this internship will be a recent graduate or a current student in a graduate or undergraduate program in a relevant field such as Public Relations, Marketing, International Relations, or related disciplines from a university or higher education institution accredited by UNESCO. Candidates should have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies in a field relevant to UNHCR's work. Excellent planning and organizational skills, attention to detail, and fluency in English with advanced writing and editing skills are essential. Additional languages are desirable. Candidates should also be capable of conducting online research, maintaining simple databases, and managing projects. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required, along with demonstrated interpersonal skills, the ability to multi-task, prioritize workloads, and be a flexible team player.
