Job Overview:

Interns will work full-time, either remotely or in-person in Geneva, and are expected to engage in various statistical and analytical activities related to Illicit Financial Flows (IFFs), South-South cooperation (SSC), and Beyond GDP metrics. The internship offers a structured learning environment where interns will receive training and mentoring from experienced supervisors. Interns will have the opportunity to assist in the preparation of documentation, organization of meetings, and drafting of reports, thereby gaining valuable insights into the workings of the United Nations and its commitment to sustainable development.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be responsible for a range of tasks, including but not limited to: assisting with statistical and analytical activities related to IFFs and SSC; preparing documentation and organizing meetings; conducting analyses and drafting reports; and supporting outreach activities. Interns must adhere to the rules and regulations of the UN, ensuring that all materials prepared during the internship are shared with the receiving departments. They are also expected to respect the confidentiality of information obtained during their internship and refrain from any conduct that could negatively impact the UN's reputation. Additionally, interns must ensure that their computer systems meet the necessary IT security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security standards to perform their tasks effectively.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants must meet specific criteria to be eligible for the internship. They should be enrolled in or have completed a graduate program (second university degree or equivalent) or be in the final year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor's level). Interns should be proficient in standard software applications and demonstrate a keen interest in the work of the UN. They must possess strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and have knowledge of data analysis and programming languages such as R, Python, or Stata. No prior work experience is required, but a relevant field of study is essential.

Educational Background:
Candidates must be students in their final year of a bachelor's degree, master's, or Ph.D. program, or have completed such programs. Proof of enrollment or completion must be provided during the application process. The educational background should be closely related to the internship's focus areas, such as economics, statistics, international relations, or a related field.

Experience:
While no professional work experience is required for this internship, candidates should have relevant academic training or coursework that aligns with the responsibilities of the internship.
