Job Overview: The Recruitment Specialist will play a crucial role in managing the complete recruitment cycle for both local and international vacancies at CIMMYT. This includes posting job openings, sourcing candidates, screening applications, conducting interviews, and facilitating the selection process. The specialist will be responsible for proactive headhunting and direct sourcing, which involves identifying and engaging passive candidates through targeted outreach rather than relying solely on inbound applications. The role requires the ability to manage multiple concurrent searches with minimal supervision, setting priorities, and driving processes to closure amidst competing demands and shifting timelines. The specialist will also ensure that all recruitment processes comply with CIMMYT policies, GEYSI standards, and data protection requirements, thereby contributing to a smooth onboarding transition for new hires.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Proactively identify, approach, and engage passive candidates through targeted headhunting and market mapping.
Manage the complete recruitment cycle for assigned vacancies, including posting, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and selection.
Liaise with HR Administration to ensure a smooth onboarding process for new hires.
Conduct all recruitment processes in compliance with CIMMYT policies and data protection requirements.
Manage multiple concurrent recruitment searches with minimal supervision, setting priorities and driving processes to closure.
Utilize recruitment systems for KPI tracking and sourcing analytics.
Provide advisory support and maintain strong communication with multicultural and multidisciplinary teams throughout the recruitment process.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
At least 4–6 years of experience in recruitment, preferably within an international or research environment.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple recruitments simultaneously with minimal supervision.
Strong communication and advisory skills, with the ability to work effectively in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.
Experience with recruitment systems, KPI tracking, and sourcing analytics.
Advanced English proficiency (C1 level).
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field is required for this position. This educational background provides the foundational knowledge necessary for understanding recruitment processes and human resource management.
Experience: Candidates should have at least 4–6 years of experience in recruitment, ideally within an international or research environment. This level of experience is essential for managing the complexities of recruitment in a global context and for effectively engaging with diverse candidates.
Languages: Advanced English proficiency is mandatory for this position, with a C1 level being required. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not specified as a requirement.
Additional Notes: CIMMYT offers an attractive remuneration package that includes benefits beyond the provisions of Mexican Labor Law. This package includes a year-end bonus equivalent to 40 days of salary, a vacation premium of 56%, life and medical insurance, supermarket coupons, a savings fund, and social benefits as per Mexican regulations (IMSS, SAR / Infonavit).
