Job Overview: The Partnership Coordination Officer will play a crucial role in the implementation of a new partnership aimed at strengthening non-communicable disease (NCD) care for refugees and host communities in Ethiopia. This position will involve acting as the main focal point within the UNHCR Country Office in Ethiopia, focusing on the partnership titled 'Sustainable Refugee Health: Transitioning towards an inclusive and climate-resilient health system response to NCDs in Ethiopia.' The officer will work under the supervision of the Senior ProgrammeCoordinator and will be responsible for providing technical support, coordination, planning, advocacy, monitoring, and reporting for the partnership's implementation. The role requires close collaboration with field-based public health staff, programme officers, and relevant colleagues from the Regional Bureau and Headquarters. The officer will ensure that the partnership aligns with national frameworks and UNHCR Ethiopia’s Multi-Year Strategy, while also monitoring the progress of the partnership's activities and ensuring that they meet the agreed objectives and timelines.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Partnership Coordination Officer include leading and coordinating the delivery of partnership outputs across all operational areas, undertaking regular missions to field sites to monitor and supervise activities, supporting programme colleagues in overall management, and ensuring the development and implementation of workplans with clear deliverables. The officer will provide guidance to relevant staff, engage with health partners, oversee procurement planning for medical supplies, act as a focal point for data gathering and sharing, document best practices, and contribute to enhancing synergies with other programmes. Additionally, the officer will coordinate the preparation of partnership narrative and financial reports, produce internal project update reports, and contribute to external communication efforts related to the partnership.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for the Partnership Coordination Officer position include a university degree in public health or a relevant medical field, social or political science, public administration, international relations, or a related field. Essential work experience includes six years of relevant experience with an undergraduate degree, five years with a graduate degree, or four years with a doctorate degree. Experience in managing complex partnerships, particularly in public health projects with NCD components, is essential. Familiarity with UNHCR’s mandate and experience working with refugees or in emergency settings is desirable. Strong communication skills, particularly in English report writing, are also required.
