Job Overview:
The Facilities Management Services Leader position is situated within the Facilities & Administrative Services Branch (FASB) of the Division for Management Services (DMS) at UNFPA. This role is pivotal in providing comprehensive facilities management services, overseeing infrastructure maintenance, and delivering on-site leadership to lower-grade workers. The incumbent will manage day-to-day operations, ensuring that facilities projects are completed technically and efficiently while delegating workloads appropriately. The position requires a proactive approach to maintaining a high-standard professional environment, serving as a liaison between internal stakeholders, external vendors, and building management. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards while supporting the UNFPA's mission to enhance the well-being of individuals globally.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Facilities Management Services Leader will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including: 1) Coordinating and overseeing premises and facilities maintenance, ensuring that work schedules are adhered to and safety regulations are followed. This includes daily inspections of premises, managing relationships with external vendors, and providing technical advice on equipment malfunctions. 2) Managing and overseeing premises infrastructure systems, including access control equipment and facility application systems, ensuring robust security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security and operational efficiency. 3) Coordinating logistical support for conferences and hospitality events, ensuring compliance with UNFPA guidelines. 4) Providing advanced administrative support, monitoring vendor contracts, and overseeing reprographics workflows. 5) Managing office supplies and stock distribution, proactively identifying procurement needs. 6) Undertaking additional duties as required to support the UNFPA mandate and strategy.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess secondary education with supplemental training in finance and/or administrative procedures. A university degree in Finance and/or Administration is advantageous. Several years of experience in facilities operations, vendor relations, and building services management is required. Proficiency in computer applications and office software packages is essential, along with experience in web-based management systems.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes secondary education complemented by training in finance and administrative procedures. A degree in a relevant field such as Finance or Administration is preferred, along with additional training in trades or crafts that may be applicable to facilities management.

Experience:
The position requires several years of experience in facilities management, demonstrating superior knowledge of the trade or craft, along with proven leadership abilities. Experience in managing vendor relations, coordinating workloads, and overseeing building services is essential. Familiarity with computer systems and office software is also necessary for effective performance in this role.

Languages:
Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate effectively within the diverse UN environment.
