Job Overview:
The logistics-manager" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Logistics Manager will play a crucial role in the Bangladesh mission of NRC, overseeing the integrated and efficient delivery of logistics and Information & Communication Technology (ICT) services. This position requires a hands-on executive who is action-oriented and execution-driven, with a strong background in developing and integrating distinctive strategies. The Logistics Manager will be responsible for ensuring optimal service delivery, day-to-day planning, managing staff, coordinating activities, and ensuring compliance with NRC policies, donor rules, and internal controls. The role also involves aligning logistics and ICT functions with global priorities and direction, making it essential for the candidate to have a proven track record in fostering a collaborative environment and building effective teams.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Logistics Manager will have a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
  • Line management of logistics and ICT staff, focusing on performance management, workforce planning, recruitment, induction, development, and capacity building.
  • Contributing to the Country Management Group by providing support and information to influence decisions.
  • Developing and facilitating the strategic objectives for logistics and ICT functions.
  • Providing operational logistics and ICT support, ensuring coordination and alignment with program plans for quality and timely project implementation.
  • Developing and monitoring budgets, conducting regular financial analyses, including assessments, cost monitoring, and resource allocation.
  • Strategically developing country structures to ensure alignment with global guidelines and standards.
  • Developing, adapting, and implementing logistics and ICT standard operating procedures, guidelines, and tools.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess logistics or supply chain senior management experience in a humanitarian or recovery context. Expertise in procurement principles and regulations is essential, along with a proven leadership track record. Familiarity with the Bangladesh context and the humanitarian response within the country is highly desirable. Additionally, candidates should have experience in complex and volatile contexts, demonstrating the ability to navigate challenges effectively.

Educational Background:
A relevant educational background is required, typically including a degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in logistics or humanitarian management may be advantageous.

Experience:
Candidates should have substantial experience in logistics management, particularly in humanitarian settings. A minimum of several years in a senior management role within logistics or supply chain is expected, with a strong emphasis on experience in challenging environments and crisis situations.

Languages:
Fluency in both English and Bangla is mandatory, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.

Additional Notes:
This position is based in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, with a contract duration of 12 months, subject to extension based on performance, requirements, and funding availability. The role may involve approximately 20% travel. The position is classified as Grade 9 in NRC’s National Salary Scale, which includes a competitive compensation and benefits package.
