Job Overview:
The Website Content Management Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring that the AYM website remains a reliable source of information for its visitors. This position involves maintaining and updating website content to reflect the organization's programs, projects, and achievements accurately. The specialist will be responsible for publishing blog articles, news updates, and impact stories, as well as organizing multimedia content such as photos and videos. The role requires collaboration with various teams within AYM to enhance the digital growth strategy and improve the accessibility of information on the website. The ultimate goal is to increase public awareness and engagement with AYM's mission and initiatives, thereby supporting the organization's efforts to create economic opportunities for African youth.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date website content across all major sections of the AYM website.
  • Update project pages, program information, and organizational announcements regularly.
  • Publish and format blog articles, news updates, and impact stories to keep the audience informed.
  • Upload and organize photos, videos, and other multimedia content to enhance the website's visual appeal.
  • Ensure consistency in content presentation, formatting, and branding across the website.
  • Support the promotion of various initiatives related to youth employment, entrepreneurship, agriculture, education, technology, healthcare, and community development.
  • Collaborate with website, SEO, fundraising, and marketing" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">digital marketing volunteers to align efforts with AYM's digital growth strategy.
  • Improve the accessibility and organization of website information to facilitate user navigation.
  • Help communicate the organizational impact to volunteers, donors, partners, and stakeholders effectively. 1
  • Support increased public awareness and engagement with AYM's mission and programs through strategic content management.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess strong writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail. Familiarity with website content management systems (CMS) is essential, as well as experience in digital marketing and SEO practices. The ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders is crucial. Candidates should also demonstrate a passion for youth empowerment and community development, aligning with AYM's mission. Proficiency in multimedia content creation and management is a plus, as is experience in volunteer coordination or project management.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, digital media, or a related field is preferred. Candidates with relevant certifications in web content management or digital marketing will also be considered. A strong understanding of web design principles and user experience (UX) is beneficial for this role.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have at least 1-2 years of experience in website content management, digital marketing, or a related field. Experience working with non-profit organizations or in volunteer roles is highly valued. Familiarity with analytics tools to measure website performance and user engagement is also advantageous.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as all content will be created and managed in English. Knowledge of additional languages relevant to the African context would be considered an asset, enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders.
