Job Overview:
The Health Program Coordinator plays a crucial role in overseeing the technical aspects, coordination, implementation, and quality assurance of health-related activities within the organization. This position is pivotal in ensuring the effective delivery of primary health care services, health systems strengthening interventions, community health activities, mental health services, and emergency health responses through various health facilities such as Primary Health Care Centers (PHCCs) and Satellite Units (PSUs). The coordinator will work closely with the Program Manager to manage health teams, support health facilities, and ensure compliance with the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) protocols and donor requirements. Additionally, the role includes temporary program management responsibilities to ensure seamless project operations during periods of staff absence, specifically maternity leave, while maintaining a focus on timely project start-up and compliance with organizational standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Health Program Coordinator is responsible for a comprehensive set of duties that include overseeing the implementation of health sector interventions in alignment with project objectives and donor requirements. Key responsibilities encompass ensuring the timely and quality implementation of various health services, including Primary Health Care, Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (MNCH), Reproductive Health, Communicable and Non-Communicable Disease management, Mental Health and psychosocial-support" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Psychosocial Support (MHPSS), and emergency health responses. The coordinator will provide technical guidance to field teams, ensure integration of protection and accountability principles, and oversee quality assurance systems across health facilities. Regular supervisory visits, technical assessments, and audits will be conducted to identify service delivery gaps. The coordinator will also manage the support provided to PHCCs and PSUs, monitor service delivery quality, and ensure the availability of medical supplies. Responsibilities extend to health information management, community health outreach, stakeholder coordination, and team management, including performance reviews and capacity building initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess essential qualifications, including a bachelor's degree in public health, Medicine, Nursing, Health Management, or a related field. A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in public health programming is required, with at least three years in a coordination, supervisory, or management role. Demonstrated experience in managing primary healthcare programs and supporting health facilities is crucial, along with experience in humanitarian and emergency response settings. Familiarity with managing health projects funded by institutional donors is also necessary. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills are essential, as well as the ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as public health, Medicine, Nursing, or Health Management. This foundational education is critical for understanding the complexities of health programming and the specific needs of the populations served by Relief International.

Experience:
The position requires a significant level of experience, specifically a minimum of five years in public health programming, with at least three years in a role that involves coordination, supervision, or management. Candidates should have a proven track record in managing primary healthcare programs and experience in humanitarian settings, demonstrating the ability to navigate the challenges associated with emergency health responses.

Languages:
Proficiency in English and Arabic is mandatory for this role, as effective communication is vital for coordinating with diverse stakeholders and ensuring the successful implementation of health programs. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not required.
