Job Overview:
The role of Asistente de Protección is crucial in supporting the direct and daily implementation of protection project activities in the assigned operational area. This position is responsible for executing operational protection actions, which include initial assistance and referral of individuals at risk, implementing community-based protection activities, conducting protection monitoring activities, and disseminating information regarding access to rights, care pathways, and available services. All functions are carried out under the guidance of the Protection Leader and in accordance with humanitarian principles, NRC's Protection Policy, and institutional standards. The Asistente de Protección plays a vital role in ensuring timely and adequate execution of protection activities, adapting to the dynamics and particularities of the intervention context.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Asistente de Protección will ensure compliance with NRC's policies, tools, manuals, and guidelines in the execution of their duties. They will directly support the implementation of the protection project portfolio according to the established action plan and supervisory guidance. The role involves executing procedures and activities as delegated by the supervisor, organizing and executing assigned tasks based on priorities, schedules, and institutional standards. The Asistente de Protección will maintain and strengthen practical knowledge in the area of protection to effectively support field activities, assist in resolving daily operational problems, prepare and deliver basic inputs for progress reports required by supervision, and ensure proper filing and organized management of documentation related to their role and project activities. They will promote and share observations or proposals for improvement aimed at strengthening the implementation of their role's activities. Specific responsibilities include supporting the direct implementation of protection activities in the assigned operational area, disseminating information about protection services to the participating population, participating in the identification of risks, needs, and protection gaps, supporting and executing case management actions, implementing community-based protection activities, conducting protection monitoring activities, maintaining operational contact with local authorities and implementing partners, participating in sector coordination spaces, delivering inputs for regular and ad-hoc reports, assisting in logistical planning and organization of field visits, and performing other functions assigned by the supervisor to fulfill the role's objectives.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a professional background in law, social work, social sciences, human sciences, political sciences, or related fields. Candidates should have prior experience working in humanitarian contexts, emergencies, and/or human mobility. Experience in complex and changing operational contexts with direct interaction with affected populations is essential. Basic knowledge of humanitarian principles and protection, as well as the age, gender, and diversity (AGD) approach, is required. The ability to apply procedures, technical guidelines, and operational orientations defined by supervision is necessary. Basic knowledge of the English language and proficiency in computer tools (MS Office / Office 365) is also required. Candidates should have a minimum of one year of direct experience in implementing protection activities in the field, experience in executing protection lines of work, and knowledge of national and international legal frameworks regarding human rights and protection.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a relevant degree in law, social work, social sciences, human sciences, political sciences, or other related fields. This educational background is essential to understand the complexities of protection work and to effectively engage with affected populations.

Experience:
A minimum of one year of relevant experience in the direct implementation of protection activities in the field is required. Candidates should have experience in executing one or more lines of protection work, such as initial case management, community-based protection, and protection monitoring, in accordance with established procedures and pathways. Experience working directly with individuals and communities affected by humanitarian crises, armed conflict, and/or human mobility is highly valued.

Languages:
Basic knowledge of English is mandatory. Knowledge of a relevant local or native language for the intervention area is considered an asset and is highly valued.
