Job Overview: The Team Leader (SG-Support Programmes) plays a crucial role in managing and leading a team responsible for coordinating the Development and Implementation Support (D&IS) Programme for Nuclear Verification. This position involves strategic planning, supervision, and implementation of activities that optimize Member State Support Programme (MSSP) resources. The Team Leader is expected to ensure that the D&IS programme aligns with the Department's resource mobilization priorities while effectively managing the interface between MSSPs and the Department of Safeguards. The role requires strong leadership skills, the ability to liaise with various stakeholders, and the capacity to provide guidance on technical and budgetary issues associated with the D&IS programme. The Team Leader will also be responsible for fostering partnerships with MSSPs and ensuring that the team operates efficiently and effectively to meet the Department's objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Team Leader will manage and lead the Support Programme coordination-team" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Coordination Team, ensuring transparent and effective management of resources to Member States. Key responsibilities include planning and arranging annual MSSP review meetings, coordinating guidance on the D&IS programme, overseeing the preparation of programme plans and reports, reviewing new tasks proposed by the Department, managing the recruitment process for Cost-Free Experts (CFEs) and Junior Professional Officers (JPOs), monitoring progress of D&IS tasks, and acting as the focal point for internal coordination of MSSP-related issues. The Team Leader will also be responsible for planning and managing the programmatic direction and development of the team, ensuring a balance of skills and resources through training, mentoring, and recruitment.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's degree in business administration, international relations, nuclear science or engineering, public administration, or a related field. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in the same fields, combined with two years of additional relevant experience, may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree. The position requires a minimum of seven years of experience in technical programme and project management, as well as experience in event planning. Proven experience in managing, developing, and mentoring staff is essential, along with experience in resource mobilization at a national or international level. Candidates should also have experience in communicating programme priorities and implementation requirements to various audiences, and experience in analyzing legal and administrative issues is considered an asset.

Additional Notes: The IAEA offers an attractive remuneration package, including a tax-free annual net base salary starting at US $84,672, along with a variable post adjustment, dependency benefits, rental subsidy, education grant, and relocation and repatriation expenses.
