Job Overview:
In this part-time role (30.4 hours per week), the Team Leader will work as part of the Perth Metro team located in Kelmscott. The primary focus of this position is to lead a dedicated team in delivering high-quality, child-centered services to vulnerable children, young people, and families. The Team Leader will be responsible for fostering a supportive and empowering culture within the team, ensuring that staff are equipped to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those they serve. This role requires a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on operational leadership, with an emphasis on building strong partnerships across communities and service systems to improve outcomes for children and families.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Team Leader will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including: leading, coaching, and supporting a high-performing team to deliver safe, high-quality, and child-centered services; building the capability, wellbeing, and professional development of team members through effective supervision, mentoring, and performance management; ensuring that services are delivered in accordance with organizational policies, funding requirements, legislative obligations, and best-practice frameworks; developing and maintaining strong partnerships with children, families, communities, and key stakeholders to enhance service integration and improve outcomes; monitoring service delivery, resources, and program performance to ensure positive outcomes for children, young people, and families; and navigating complex situations with sound judgment while balancing competing priorities.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong leadership skills to motivate and guide a high-performing team towards achieving collective goals and positive outcomes for clients. A genuine passion for supporting and managing a team to meet and exceed objectives is essential. Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills are required, along with a strong understanding of place-based practice and the ability to work collaboratively with various communities and partners. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate a commitment to strengths-based, trauma-informed, culturally safe, and child-centered practices, ensuring that the needs and voices of children, young people, and families remain central to service delivery.

Educational Background:
The position requires a relevant qualification in social work, psychology, community services, or a related field. Candidates should have a solid understanding of child rights, child protection, and the social issues affecting children and families in Australia. Continuous professional development and training in leadership and management practices are also advantageous.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have significant experience in a leadership role within the community services sector, particularly in areas related to child welfare, youth services, or family support. Experience in managing teams, developing programs, and working collaboratively with stakeholders is crucial. A proven track record of achieving positive outcomes for vulnerable populations is highly desirable.

Languages:
While English is the mandatory language for this position, proficiency in additional languages relevant to the communities served by 54 Reasons would be considered an asset. This includes languages spoken by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, as well as other multicultural groups within Australia.

Additional Notes:
This is a part-time position with a commitment of 30.4 hours per week. The organization values work-life balance and is open to discussing flexible working arrangements. The role offers an award rate salary (Level 6.1 - $55.72 per hour) along with access to full PBI salary packaging benefits.
