Job Overview: The primary objective of this consultancy position is to support the UNRWA Lebanon Field Office in producing and delivering high-quality audiovisual and communication materials. These materials are essential for effectively documenting and communicating UNRWA’s various programs, humanitarian interventions, and responses to the needs of the Palestine Refugee community in Lebanon. The consultant will work closely with the Field Public Information Officer and will be responsible for creating compelling visual content that aligns with UNRWA's messaging and branding standards. This role requires a creative individual who can produce engaging videos and photographs that highlight the living conditions of Palestine Refugees and the impact of UNRWA's work.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Consultant will have a range of responsibilities, including but not limited to: coordinating with the Field Public Information Officer, maintaining confidentiality, and adhering to UNRWA communication protocols. The consultant will provide high-quality video and photography services that cover UNRWA programs and field activities. They will produce and edit short films and videos, develop concepts and scripts, review drafts for quality assurance, and manage the UNRWA LFO photo library. Additionally, the consultant will monitor communication materials for compliance with branding requirements, participate in planning meetings, conduct field visits for content collection, and undertake any other ad hoc audiovisual tasks as required.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree in Visual Arts, Communications, Media Production, Film Studies, or a related field from an accredited institution. They should have a minimum of two years of documented professional experience in film/documentary writing, producing, directing, videography, photography, and editing. Proven experience in producing digital multimedia content and managing audiovisual projects is essential. Advanced computer skills, particularly in Adobe Creative Suite (including Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, or equivalent software), are required for this position.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a university degree in a relevant field such as Visual Arts, Communications, Media Production, or Film Studies. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the principles of visual storytelling and effective communication strategies.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of two years of professional experience in the audiovisual field, specifically in areas such as film/documentary writing, producing, directing, videography, photography, and editing. Candidates should demonstrate a strong portfolio of work that showcases their ability to produce high-quality digital multimedia content and manage audiovisual projects effectively.
Languages: The consultant must have an excellent command of written and spoken English, as well as a good working knowledge of Arabic. Proficiency in these languages is essential for effective communication and collaboration within the UNRWA team and with the Palestine Refugee community.
Additional Notes: The consultancy is expected to last for a duration of six months, with a monthly salary of USD 1721.4
