This type of contract strengthens the operational capacity of the office, ensures the necessary administrative, programmatic, and technical support, and facilitates the execution of projects and activities in the various territories where UNFPA develops its cooperation.
Job Overview: The position involves leading and providing technical and logistical support for the execution of activities, projects, and strategies aimed at fulfilling the commitments and responsibilities of the Gender, Human Rights, and Interculturality Area of UNFPA Colombia. This includes work related to gender equality, women's empowerment, comprehensive approaches to gender-based violence, and the eradication of harmful practices, as well as the promotion of sexual and reproductive rights. Additionally, the role will support the management of information and knowledge within the Area. The job may require travel to cities and/or municipalities at the national level and possibly abroad, using air, land, and/or river transport, for which the candidate must possess the necessary physical and training capabilities to fulfill the responsibilities effectively. The workplace will be located in the city of Bogotá.
Duties and Responsibilities: The responsibilities of the position include developing and reviewing strategic and technical documents, knowledge management, and information management, with an emphasis on gender equality, sexual rights, reproductive rights, the eradication of harmful practices, and comprehensive approaches to gender-based violence. The advisor will also develop and support the management of quantitative information and gender statistics for the development of documents, projects, activities, and strategies within the Area. Leading and supporting actions and projects aimed at preventing and eradicating harmful practices such as female genital mutilation and child marriages, as well as early and forced unions, is also a key responsibility. The advisor will design and implement capacity-building activities aimed at women, officials from national and territorial institutions, community-based organizations, and other prioritized actors. Additionally, the role involves supporting the ideation and construction of technical and financial proposals for social projects aligned with the interests of the area to mobilize resources, as well as supporting advocacy processes and political dialogue developed by the Gender Area. The advisor will also generate and manage alliances and engage with national and territorial institutions, community-based organizations, civil society, leaders, and other strategic actors. Furthermore, the advisor will accompany and strengthen the technical and logistical initiatives and actions of the Area related to the compliance with CPD 8 of the UNFPA country office, as well as those aimed at fulfilling the UNFPA Strategic Plan at the global level concerning the Gender, Human Rights, and Interculturality Area. Preparing technical inputs for progress reports, monitoring, and evaluation is also part of the role. Confidentiality regarding documents and information produced and managed during the contract is required. The advisor must be available full-time to fulfill their responsibilities and perform other tasks assigned by the Gender Advisor related to the management of the Area.
Required Qualifications: The minimum requirements for the position include a high school diploma, with a preference for a professional degree in social sciences or political sciences. A postgraduate degree is desirable. Candidates should have a minimum of six (6) years of relevant work experience in issues related to gender equality, sexual rights, reproductive rights, women's empowerment, gender-based violence, and harmful practices. Experience, knowledge, and skills in leading and supporting technical processes, strategies, and social projects are essential. Additionally, experience working at the territorial level with communities, civil society organizations, women's organizations, and institutions is required. Candidates should also possess knowledge and experience in implementing gender, differential, ethnic, and intercultural approaches, as well as effective communication and writing skills.
Educational Background: Candidates are required to have at least a high school diploma, with a preference for a professional degree in areas related to social sciences or political sciences. A postgraduate degree is considered desirable and would enhance the candidate's qualifications for the role.

Languages: The position requires excellent command of the Spanish language, and an intermediate level of English is also necessary. Proficiency in these languages is essential for effective communication and documentation in the role.
