Job Overview:
The Analyst, Human Capital & Skills – Energy position is integral to the Gender and Economic Inclusion (G&EI) division, which focuses on enhancing access to skills, employment, finance, and services. The role involves providing technical input for project design and structuring, particularly in the context of energy investments. The Analyst will be responsible for monitoring and managing human capital elements of the EBRD's energy portfolio, ensuring that projects achieve their intended transition impact. This includes contributing to assessments such as Country Diagnostics and Sectoral Strategies, and collaborating with the economist" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Principal Economist on just energy transition platforms. The position requires a proactive approach to support the G&EI team in its mission to promote gender equality and economic inclusion across various sectors.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Analyst will assist economists and specialists in their work, supporting relationships with Banking and other teams throughout all project stages. Key responsibilities include monitoring sector developments, assessing structural reform progress, and contributing to country diagnostics. The Analyst will also monitor the transition impact of Bank operations, which may involve limited travel to project sites. Additional duties include conducting background research, drafting briefings and presentations, and maintaining relevant datasets. The role requires collaboration with various teams to ensure effective project design and implementation, as well as participation in organizing G&EI conferences and workshops.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in economics, public policy, development, gender studies, or a related field from a reputable university. Relevant work experience in policy-oriented macroeconomics, particularly related to the just energy transition and human capital considerations, is preferred. Familiarity with sectors under the Sustainable Infrastructure Group, including renewable energy, is advantageous. Strong analytical and quantitative skills are essential, along with proficiency in Excel and other analytical software. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are required, and knowledge of EBRD's countries of operations is beneficial.

Educational Background:
A Master’s degree in a relevant field such as economics, public policy, development, or gender studies is required. Candidates with a strong Bachelor’s degree and relevant work experience may be considered in exceptional cases. The educational background should ideally include coursework or training related to economic analysis, policy development, and gender studies.

Experience:
The position requires prior work experience in policy-oriented or applied macroeconomics, particularly in areas relevant to the just energy transition. Experience in banking or consultancy services related to sustainable infrastructure projects is advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of the economic and social implications of energy projects and have experience in data analysis and project management.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, with excellent written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of one or more languages from the EBRD's countries of operations is considered an advantage, enhancing the candidate's ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and contribute to regional projects.
