Job Overview:
The Programme Analyst for Women’s Economic Empowerment at UN Women is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing interventions related to women's economic empowerment. Reporting to the Head of Office, the Programme Analyst will work closely with various stakeholders, including the program and operations team, UN Women’s regional office, government officials, and civil society organizations. The role requires the design and development of program strategies, management of program implementation, and collaboration with partners to ensure effective execution of initiatives aimed at empowering women economically. The Programme Analyst will also be involved in monitoring and reporting on program outcomes, managing financial resources, and contributing to inter-agency coordination efforts to align UN Women’s programs with other initiatives in the country.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Programme Analyst include designing and developing program strategies in the area of Women’s Economic Empowerment, formulating project proposals, managing the implementation of the program, and overseeing the technical implementation of projects. The Programme Analyst will also manage relationships with national partners, provide technical assistance, and coordinate capacity development initiatives. Additionally, the role involves monitoring program implementation, managing financial resources, and developing resource mobilization strategies. The Programme Analyst will represent UN Women in meetings and policy dialogues, develop advocacy strategies, and contribute to knowledge management efforts related to Women’s Economic Empowerment.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree or equivalent in social sciences, human rights, gender/women's studies, international development, or a related field. A first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. A project/programme management certification is considered an advantage. Candidates should have at least 2 years of progressively responsible work experience in the design, planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of development projects, with a focus on Women’s Economic Empowerment. Technical experience in this area is required, along with experience in leading and coaching staff in international settings.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s degree or equivalent in relevant fields such as social sciences, human rights, gender/women's studies, or international development. Alternatively, a first-level university degree with additional qualifying experience may be accepted. A project/programme management certification would be beneficial for candidates.

Experience:
The position requires at least 2 years of progressively responsible work experience at the national or international level in the design, planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of development projects. Technical experience specifically in Women’s Economic Empowerment is essential. Candidates should also have experience in leading and coaching staff in international settings, as well as proficiency in using office software and web-based management systems. Experience coordinating with government agencies and donors is desirable, along with familiarity with the UN System and modern web-based ERP systems, preferably Oracle Cloud.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language, such as French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish, is desirable. Additionally, knowledge of a Sierra Leonean language is considered an asset.
