Job Overview:
The Analyst position at EBRD is integral to the project cycle, encompassing project origination, structuring, execution, implementation, and monitoring. The Analyst will be responsible for various tasks assigned by the operation leader or senior project team members, which include conducting comprehensive due diligence across financial, market, integrity, and EBRD policy compliance. The role requires effective post-signing implementation and monitoring of projects, particularly within the Food and Agribusiness Team, which aims to maximize the transition impact potential of companies in the food and agribusiness sector. This sector includes the entire value chain from primary agriculture to food retail, and the Analyst will contribute to tailored financing solutions that address specific needs. The EBRD has invested EUR 16.4 billion in over 980 agribusiness projects since its inception, making it the largest investor in this sector in its operational region. The Analyst will work closely with a project team, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and to a high standard, in alignment with the Bank's policies and objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Analyst's duties include working as a project team member on transactions, contributing to all aspects of project structuring and execution. This involves conducting comprehensive research and analysis of background materials, market information, and financial performance data. The Analyst will analyze and evaluate potential risks associated with proposed projects, including financial statement analysis and the preparation of financial models and projections. Additionally, the Analyst will assist in designing and processing technical cooperation assistance, preparing terms of reference, and internal approval documentation to support investment projects. Communication with internal units, clients, and stakeholders is also part of the role, which includes drafting correspondence and presentations. The Analyst will undertake tasks related to the implementation and monitoring of projects, ensuring compliance with project agreements and Bank procedures. This includes monitoring project progress, financial performance, and assessing evolving risk factors. The Analyst will prepare draft monitoring reports with recommendations for corrective actions, ensuring these are communicated to senior team members. The role is designed to allow the Analyst to progressively take on more complex tasks and expand their responsibilities based on experience and expertise.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree, with a Master's degree preferred or equivalent experience in relevant areas. Professional qualifications such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA are desirable. Strong quantitative and numerical skills are essential, along with the ability to interpret financial information and design financial models. Candidates should have credit analysis skills, understanding local and international accounting principles, and practices of credit analysis. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and spreadsheet software, including financial analysis and modeling modules, is required. A good understanding of relevant systems and processes is also necessary. The ability to work effectively as part of a team, meet deadlines, and perform under pressure is crucial. Strong written and oral communication skills in English are mandatory, and proficiency in the local language is an advantage.

Educational Background:
The position requires a Bachelor's degree as a minimum educational qualification, with a preference for candidates holding a Master's degree or equivalent experience in relevant fields. This educational background should ideally be complemented by professional qualifications in finance or accounting, such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA, which would enhance the candidate's suitability for the role.

Experience:
Candidates should have relevant financial industry experience, ideally gained from working in investment or commercial banks, private equity firms, asset management firms, or auditing/financial consulting firms that operate to international standards. Exposure to industry or country-specific experience is also beneficial, as it will provide context and understanding of the projects the Analyst will be involved in.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within the EBRD. A good command of the local language is considered an advantage, as it may facilitate better communication with local stakeholders and clients.
